Sci fi Flight game

I want to say the game was called Orbit though i am not actually entirely certain of that. I can say that none of these are the game https://amiga.abime.net/games/list/?gamename=orbit [ Show youtube player ]

From what little i can recall of the game you were playing as some kind of a ufo. I believe the game could be started from workbench, not sure if it was self booting or not. No idea what the objective was in the game. The game also seemed to be rather short indicating it was either a demo or perhaps i was just very bad at it.

Maybe some of these...

Orbit 3D from Richard Horne (there exists a YouTube Video)
on other PD Titel is Orb-It. but it is a Break Out Clone.

Or the Commercial Orbital Destroyer from Software Creations.

if you don't find "orbit" in those suggested, your game, maybe, could be have different name. Among commercial and PD, there are various games that start from Workbench.

Start from workbench in the sense you must load your Workbench disk, or the game boot itself with a minimal workbench?

Interesting game, thanks for pointing it out.

Did a bit of a search on "orbit 3d" and "richard home" but did not find much else other than a reference to it also being on Ami Arcade #4 in '89.

Quote:
Another interesting disk is Chiron Conceptions
Ami Arcade #4. Its many games include Hari Wi-
guna's Wheel of Fortune, a version of Adventure, and
weak renditions of Checkers and Backgammon. The
real treat, however, is Orbit 3D by Richard Home.

Who can resist sitting in front of an .Amiga wearing
3-D glasses? 1 certainly can't. Orbit 3D's basic play is
not spectacular. Your goal is to keep your ship alive
as long as you can. You have a limited amount of
fuel, oxygen, and torpedoes, but you can replenish
those supplies by docking with the mother ship.
Sound easy so far? The problem (no problem, no
plot) is that you're orbiting a black hole, I never got
very good — 1 kept shooting the mother ship instead
of the asteroid— but I still had a great time.

Well, so you found it.

Berliner Spielekiste was a big PD Publisher here in Berlin.
I have a Gamelist from them. This was where I found the Titel Orbit 3D. SK 043 was the Disknumber at the Spielekiste.
The owner in these years was a Mr. Hillenbrand and he had also very good contacts to private developers. I ordered all my Shareware Full Version there.
Like Hangar 18, Super Blobble 2, Castle Incinerator, Friday Night Pool, Fayoh 1 + 2, Dark Angel...etc
