Knackered transparent Competition Pro joysticks

Nearly all of this variety I've come across have been badly cracked, both on the base and the stick. The ball of the stick on one I had looked like it had a spider's web printed on it because it was coming apart in so many places. Were they made of different materials to the opaque ones?

Yep, they're a different plastic mixture.

The metal springed ones have lasted better than the rubber disc ones.

I have noticed that original XBOX crystal (clear) controllers become brittle and the fixings break then undoing them.
