Last Ninja Acorn Archimedes version?

I'm just wondering.. was a full version of Last Ninja ever released for the Archimedes? The Last Ninja Archives has a demo version for this game in the downloads section but I can't get it to run as it's not a floppy image, just a bunch of files.. and I have no idea how this Archimedes machine works.

But it left me wondering if there might be a full version of this game for the machine? Anyone know?

Charlie told me that his brother had the Archimedes retail version, but he sold or lost it. I would love to play this version too.

The demo looks nice, but i can't pickup any items.

Edit: I put the demo into the Zone. It's an ADF.

Thanks!

Now I *need* the full version! This looks like a sweet port!

Googled around, can't seem to find it.. perhaps no one dumped it?

No, can't seem to pick it up.. seems unfinished that way?

It's very strange that the full version is nowhere to be found, I've been looking around more and download so called full Acorn torrents but no go

Most of the Archimedes games downloads are the tosec set, and from what I can gather there's a considerable amount of games missing from it..

With todays internet you could probably find the author. Take a look on Linkedin and other such websites... see if you can find a facebook group for the company he used to work for etc.

Peter Scott did the BeeB and Electron version, publisher was Superior Software.

Thanks for the tips!

I actually just sent a mail to that Superior Software site.

Also, the name "Andrew Catling" appears on the main screen in this demo.. it seems like he did the art?

I tried searching for his name and found some computer game related names but from what I gathered, they hadn't been in the business for that long so it seems I haven't found the correct Andrew.

Sent a mail to one of them but I doubt it's the right person.

I'm quite bad at finding stuff on the net.

EDIT -

Hmmmmm.. have a look at this - the backcover for the box -

http://acorn.revivalteam.de/Pictures...tninjaback.jpg

Has some very nice screens of other levels than the one in the demo version! God, I want this game

Andrew Catling is reported to have done another Archimedes game called "Drop ship" published by a company called The Fourth Dimension, perhaps you'll have more luck finding him using this reference?

Game author to me sounds like he did the programming AND the artwork.

Let me know how you make out, I have an ace in the whole, I (used to) know the games programmer who ported Quake to RiscOS and if anyone knows everything about Acorn and games then it's going to be Martin!

Been looking on eBay but can only find BBC versions there. If anyone finds this version for sale and don't want to buy and dump it themselves, let me know and I'll buy it (even if it's expensive).

I'd have to figure out how to dump the floppies though.

I hope he doesn't mean the BBC version, it seems people can confuse them easily.

EDIT - I sent him a PM, hope he'll answer soon.

There is also talk of it in THIS thread but it looks far less reliable and is very old.

I forgot that Ninja Remix was done by Eclipse, the Amiga and ST versions were done by people I know!

I think they're talking about the demo version there.. because I emailed Kai (the founder of the site and he posted in that thread as well) asking and he said the only version he has is the demo version on the site.

No, I was hoping it could be possible to dump it using a regular floppy drive, I have no idea.

But I'd still buy it and let someone with an Archimedes borrow it and dump it, if that was required.

OT: But, is there an Acorn Archimedes equivalent of a site like this one? Looking for a good archie community to get back into...

I've got a 3010 (green keys) somewhere

I still feel that tracking the author is your best bet. Ask if anyone still knows him at Superior and The Fourth Dimension, check linkedin, facebook, Mobygames etc.
