problem running Black Crypt on AGA systems?

my copy of black crypt runs fine on my A500 and it used to run fine off the HD of my old A3000 but when i try play it on my A1200 (either by disk through WB 3.9 or from the HD install i get a crazy wavy screen. the game is going because you can hear the music and see the sorta colors change on screen but its completely unviewable.

so does this game have issues with the AGA chipset? any fixes?
