Apart from the bee "cheat" isn't it possible to :
Grab extra life,
kill everything on screen,
die
Grab new extra life and so on, in a lot of games? Therefore making the challenge just another "scripted event/ I got the most time"

For those with a lot of time I'd recommend a shooter like battlesquadron or IK+ both games a reasy to cheat on tho :/ so a better idéa would prol be best time in Nitro L1. No savestates allowed

*edit*

Cool The Turrican challenge

@Spiff
The bee-hive cheat is the only cheat I can think of to multiple your score. The cheat you mention is (luckily) not possible in Turrican II.
THE challenge in Turrican II (and 1) is to kill all enemies at once, because once they disappear from screen, they're gone.
This is also true for discovered bonus blocks. Somehow this adds to the charm of the game.

Going off-topic slightly, I gave Turrican 3 a shot last night.

I just couldn't get into it. That grapple, although a nice addition, seems to be implemented badly. It's a real hassle to reach high platforms with it, simply because breaking the chain is a pain.

Too much had changed in my opinion, or perhaps I've just grown up purely on Turrican 1 & 2. It was a fair effort from Factor 5 though, to be fair.

I think I am the only one who thinks Turrican 3 is the best in the series. I dunno, I just feel it's a little more polished than the previous games.

Red face

Just for fun, I tried it on my real Amiga with a real Joystick - god, this really is much easier.

Don't you have a gamepad on the PC?

The scrolling is one reason to play it on the real thing though, smooth as greased lightning

Challenge 2 was won by Amigaboy with 0165500 points.

To avoid cluttering up RCKs board with endless Challenge 1,2,3,4 etc posts, all future challenges will be posted in the original thread:

A Challenge

If you want to take part in challenge 3 go there.

There's a world of difference between controlling with a gamepad and a joystick. I have a gamepad on the PC but still prefer the keyboard for Amiga emulation mainly because I'm as precise with that as I am with a real joystick.
