Wasn't King's Quest 8 (Mask of Eternity) supposed to be bad? It may just be an example like MI4 though- I don't think Roberta Williams was involved much on it, if at all.

You're right, King's Quest VIII sucks big time. KQ VII was a nice cartoon-like adventure and then this.
