I was wondering can you load a game from the manager, you pick 000 and it loads the manager with the slots then pick a slot and get it mount and boot from that slot, instead of have to go to say 015 using the buttons for the first disk..?
If not I would love to be able to..

This is possible with a small modification into the file selector. Will try it

Done ! :

http://hxc2001.com/download/floppy_d...AlphaTrial.zip

You now can startup any image from the slot page. Just select/go to the slot and press F7, the Amiga will reboot automatically on the right images.

Both firmware and file Selector need to be updated.

I've flashed this firmware today and compared to the current Beta firmware it is incredibly fast and the F7 functionality was genious.

I'll be packing my Amiga for a while so the unit will likely serve in a 486 computer for a while, but the firmware is great, thanks Jeff! Your work is easily worth more than 10.

The File selector with a trackloader bootblock for fast loading is incoming.

-> Note : Bootblock coded in C and few ASM with gcc.
I tried this route for fun to see this is possible and yes it is ! 1KB is lot of room, even in C .

Hi,

Done !

For all users of the SD HxC Emulator or HxC Firmware on Gotek, the version 1.48a of the file selector is now available :

The main update from the version v1.47 is a new bootblock for the Amiga version. The file selector is now "trackloaded" and start faster.

I hope that you will appreciate it

http://hxc2001.com/download/floppy_d...or_Manager.zip

http://hxc2001.com/download/floppy_d...AlphaTrial.zip

For the tech side, unlike most bootblock, the main part of this bootblock is coded in C. And this surprisingly fit into the 1KB size limit .

I would if I used the Gotek for my Amiga, and used the selector. (Only use it with the ST and CPC)

Jeff - I already paid once for the HxC and applied to one GoTek, I know I have to pay again to do another GoTek - no problem, well worth it but when I'm ready, do I have to complete the first customer in French language only order form o the website? Or can I just email you directly like last time after paying via paypal??

Thanks Jeff for this new release.

About an old feature in development : IPF images support ( HFE format rev 2).
Could you please tell us if you will continue your work on it?

I copy the answer i put in the other thread :

<<The low level part is now able to executes the opcodes in the stream to support the copy protected images in the last update. So this is almost there. Just need to insert the opcodes into the converter software.

btw since the 2008 hxc usb floppy emulator (this one support all copy protection since almost 10 years) i got finally very few ask for the "ipf" support. is there some interests finally ?>>

So yes sure i continue. I finish some stuff on the selector and i will be back on this right after.

But i would like to have some interest feedback: After 10 years doing floppy emulators i have the feeling that most people (99.9%) don't care about ipf and "don't want to convert" things. The cracked ADF files seems to be enough for most of their usage. am i wrong ?
how many of you are interested by an indirect ipf support (ipf converted to hfe)?

New File selector update with some new features:
http://hxc2001.com/download/floppy_d...AlphaTrial.zip

You can now import from txt file / export to txt file / auto populate / check / fix and clear your slots configuration.

This is for the moment available in the Windows and Linux version in command line but i plan to move some of these functions in the Amiga/ST GUI.

HXCFEMNG.exe -help to get the command line options

Options:
-help : This help
-verbose : Verbose mode
-disk:[path] : Path to the drive to mount
-getslots:[filename.txt] : Get the slots list
-setslots:[filename.txt] : Set the slots list
-fixslots : Fix the bad slot(s)
-populateslots : Scan all supported file images on your SD/USB stick and auto add them into the slots if they are not already present in the slots.
-clearslots : Clear the slots

Examples :

(If F: is your SD / USB stick)

Get all my current slots setting into mylist.txt

HXCFEMNG.exe -disk:F: -getslots:mylist.txt

Set mylist.txt slots setting into the cfg file

HXCFEMNG.exe -disk:F: -setslots:mylist.txt

The current text format per line is :

slotnumber:/path/to/the/image.adf

Examples :

Code:
00001:/pop.adf
00002:/DSKA0003.IMG
00003:/testfolder/dkboot_fat1440.img
00004:/EmptyFM.img
00005:/FM26S77T128B.IMG
00006:/HD1.hfe
00007:/HD2.hfe
00008:/HD3.hfe
Note 1:
Since the software do raw access to the SD/USB Stick, the executable can't be launched from these drive.
Depending of your setup, you may need to start the software in administrator mode.

Note 2:
The Linux version is available on github :

https://github.com/jfdelnero/HXCFE_file_selector

Checkout the repository and do a make into the sdl subfolder.

Any feedback is appreciated ! Thanks !

Thanks Jeff for your return.
For me,
**advantages of indirect support of IPF :
- access to more games in foreign language not available on ADF/WHDLOAD release (e.g : cannon fodder in french)
- reliable dump to avoid bad/buggy adf files => gain of time at the end

**disadvantages:
- conversion but it's not really tricky
- copy protection steps but can be often passed with scans of manuals

When you are ready, i will help to test it!
