I misread at first, it does seem to work on original hardware, but as I said, very few people have a SuperCPU, VICE support is irrelevant, the C64 scene works mostly for real hardware, not emulation-only scenarios (quite different from the Amiga scene).
"Emulator-detecting" routines on demos and "fuckings" sent to emulator users are a well seen occurrence in the 64 scene, which you don't see on Amiga.

Argus - Dungeon Crawling style C64/128 Adventure is nearly here!

Quote:
Another really cool announcement as Trevor Story has once again shown off the latest C64 gameplay footage for their in development Adventure game in a Dungeon Crawler style of ' Argus ', which will be released by Psytronik Software and RGCD very soon. Coded by Achim Volkers, music and sfx by Saul Cross, art and design by Trevor Storey, and with a design flavour of the classic Psygnosis game 'Obitus'. This game will have you exploring strange locations and battling mighty foes such as the spectre above with a multitude of weapons.

Neohabitat - A relaunch of the first MMORPG, originally dev'd for the C64!

Quote:
Many of you probably didn't know this (I know I didn't) but in 1986 LucasArts, with development by Randy Farmer and Chip Morningstar, released a beta of the massively multiplayer online RPG of ' Habitat ' for the C64; a first attempt at a large scale commercial virtual community that was graphic based. Each person in this large world had to have a C64 and had to be able to connect via a modem and telephone, which for many probably caused very high phone bills. And on that note today's news is something pretty special, as The Museum of Digital Art and Entertainment have released Neohabitat - a relaunch of the first massively mulitplayer online roleplaying game, Lucasfilm's Habitat.

I have been waiting for Habitat to be reborn for a long time! I tried this a couple of weeks ago but am always alone, still need to do a lot of investigating.

Galencia Preview - A rather decent 10 level playable demo for all C64 gamers!

Quote:
Galencia is a reboot of the classic arcade space shooter Galaga. This version is Beta 3, and currently around 30% complete. Triad have produced a quick trainer with infinite lives so you can easily see all the levels in action. You can also head over to the Lemon 64 development blog and give feedback to the developer which might make it into the final game.

Many of you are probably still playing through the newly released preview of Galencia on the C64, but there's another special release that has recently appeared today and that's the Silverrock Collection released by SNAQZ. This easyflash cartridge bonanza took us completely by surprise as it's a tribute to some of the coolest and strangest games that have come from a company well known for putting games on the tv!

It's incredible the huge amount of games for the C64 that get released nowadays, I can't not fully watch or less try all of them. But what about the Demos? I've searched now and I've found so many and lots from 2017 I had never seen. I can not recommend any as I say there are so many that I can't watch them all.

I would love some enlightment also about the best demos that have been recently -or not so much- released.

Edit: When I say that there are so many games is that I know for example about a new one that I played yesterday that hasn't been mentioned here -or nowhere- and there is no video and almost anything on Google. I'm talking about "La Carretera", a spanish new game that has some kind of maldition. the kind of the video played on the The Ring movie, hard to explain what happened for it to be released. You can find it here:

To get the best of C64 demos you have to look at the top competition entries of the main demoparties that get C64 content, which I think are: Datastorm, X (every 2 years), Gubbdata, Revision, Evoke, Outline.
