There's nothing else I can do to optimize it using C++, it needs some very cool 68060 ASM to make it faster. |

Fired up Championship Manager 97/98 on my A1200, it's not actually that much slower than the Champ Manager 2 port we got all those years ago!
Of course, I'm only messing around, both are unfortunately unplayable. But, just like mame, it's fun loading up the games/ROMs and seeing how far you can get. Last edited by Reido; 20 March 2014 at 09:39. |

Theres a fake86 - portable open-source SDL-based PC 8086 emulator on the net, which probably would run better than DosBox on Amigas. Even it is only a PC-XT emu, it contains soundblaster+adlib emulation, which other Amiga emulators does not, so I think there is a question for NovaCoder what he thinks, if this would be worth to try to make an Amiga-port of this.

Is there a way to make the emulation work with some kind of hardware midi emulation? Is a midi player which we can plug into the midi out port of a midi interface?

There's also a port called DosBox Turbo which has been optimised, maybe this would be a better fit for 68K. Last edited by NovaCoder; 04 December 2014 at 05:26. |

Hi Nova, compiling fake86 is very easy and fast.
I took me 5 minutes. But it doesn't work for me. Only black window opens. Maybe it will work for you? |

I thought I'd release my final version of DOSBox AGA, this version has been further optimized by removing support for 486 and 586 CPU's.
It's still very slow but it might be possible to play some of the older PC games. [ Show youtube player ] When we get a super fast FPGA CPU then this emulator will be totally awesome for Amiga users I also added CAMD MIDI support to this release but I'm not sure if it's working properly. Great work, it will be very useful when FPGA accelerators will be in our Amigas.

I tried changing the 'frame skip' option to 10 and was able to get Eye of the Beholder running (slowly)

Could you try something like Prestorik 2, Blues Brothers 2, Pinball Dreams 2?

It works better with slow moving games like Dungeon games, strategy games, adventure games and golf games.
It's not going to be much fun with fast moving games like platform games, driving games or pinball games. Last edited by NovaCoder; 04 December 2015 at 03:32. |
