Exit,

This wrong. Jens communicate a lot on the Chameleon 64 forum !!!
I think he is busy with this product.

They are rewriting the VGA driver (maybe to get smoother scrolling throught the VGA, I said maybe) so it can be good for the Indivision too

Also, recent developments (after release of the ACA 1230/630 cards with their maprom feature) have shown that we need a flashable kickstart, which would be nice on this controller. Long way to go!

Jens

I would like to know (if it's possible) if there's any new about the sata controller

Yes I'd love some news on the SATA controller as well. I have a feeling its on hold also.

I know one thing it will probably be one of the fastest selling amiga products in a while!

I would not be too quick to say that "This wrong" and accuse Jens of communicating on the Chameleon 64 forum site as a reason some other projects are taking longer. I think that Jens has other people working with and for him that do some of this work, so if he takes some time out of his day to write some forum posts over there, "I" would not complain about it.

Maybe he writes to the forums at night from his bed before falling asleep on a laptop and this does not interfere with his work at all, who knows?

Good hardware for Amiga's takes time to make.

I think a more realistic date is mid Feb on this one. I don't mind though, it's gonna be cracking when it comes!

Some would argue that it already is "later". I'm hoping for a great product, that will be with me as long as the A1200 is still alive, so i am willing to wait. Currently i'm surviving on retrogaming through the Xbox, meaning NES/SNES/SMS/Genesis. It's not what i had when i was a kid, but it's what i played at friends...

A4000D version may actually become a reality - if there are enough pre-orders. This would not go through resellers (as none of them wants to take the risk) - orders would be handled directly, and it would be a one-time thing. Read some details here:
http://www.a1k.org/forum/showthread.php?t=30269

If a version for A4000D/CD32 will be produced will be decided from the number of pre-orders. We're collecting "interested people" until the end of the month, and if that's enough, I'll start collecting money prior to production. If anyone does not pay in time (read: within 6 days of the invoice), he/she does not endanger the production run, but his price, because late payers will pay 30,- EUR on top.

Details for those who don't speak German:
- a version for A4000D will also fit the CD32
- a new production run would mean "new design", so it has DVI-I out
- due to the small quantity, price would be 170,- EUR plus shipping and banking cost (in case you're not in Europe).

That's fantastic! I'm definitely interested in one! Time to save some pennies.

I'm quite happy to pre-order, since I really do want one of these, but I don't speak German, so am not on A1K. Is there anywhere else I can declare interest?

Same here. Additional info on shipping to the US would also be welcome.

If you're interested in buying a unit for A4000D or CD32, please contact me through the form on my website www.icomp.de with your full address, double-checked eMail (so I can answer) and the quantity you're interested in. I'll get back to you next month with a decision if this version will be produced or not, and if it will be produced, with an invoice.
