Alternative to ClassicWB?

I really enjoy using ClassicWB but I also really enjoy trying new things.

What alternatives (if any) are there to ClassicWB?

My hardware is A1200 + 33Mhz 030, 126Mb Ram, 8Gb CFHD.

and

"For AmiKit to work, you do need Amiga Kickstart ROM 3.1 and AmigaOS 3.9 or 3.5."

You have:

AmigaSYS - seems no longer in development, but it is a really good package.

Amikit AGA - still supported and getting updates.

BetterWB - supported by me

Pack Ultimate 68k - Seems abandoned but had its good points.

Thanks guys!

Which one of those would you consider a good balance between speed and eye candy?

I can only say it is always easier to disable eye candy options than to implement them when they do not exists.

If you cherish both eye candy and speed, I would go ClassicWB (which you have already tested).
For speed alone, I would go BetterWB
For eye candy alone, I would go AmigaSYS or Amikit AGA

Isn't BetterWB basically WB with no Icandy and no other features?

i.e...Workbench with bits missing to make it run faster?

With 33Mhz I would try more setups of CWB. My favourites are CWBAdvSp and CWBOS3.9. Maybe AmigaSYS too. If you want more eye candy I would wait for AmiKit 1.0 update (I will add Toolsdaemon) using Workbench that is a bit faster when you boot, and use 16 colors only.

Where did you get that information from?

It is designed for improved performance and enhanced feature set with limited eye candy that doesnt compromise the former. I suggest you take a read at its website and try it for yourself.

On the other hand, according to what you wanted, I again suggest you to stick with ClassicWB.

Real AmiKit looks like a neat contender. Unfortunately there's an issue with my custom 3.9 ROM's and RealAK (it crashes during the boot process).
