help saving black crypt

hello, i'm from Belgium so sorry for the mistakes i make.

I'm looking for help to save the game Black crypt in winuae.
I managed to start it up, but when I have to save my party, it says:
please insert disc: gamesave.
So I created a floppy disc with winuae and called gamesave.adf.
The I ejected black crypt 1 from DF0 and put gamesave.adf in DF0.

Then I go back to the game but it won't accept it. it does nothing.
Can anyone tell me what I must do. I've tried everything but It won't work.
Please help me.
Thank you very much

Hi Girl2000 and welcome to EAB!

For the save disk to work it needs to be called 'Gamesave' in AmigaDOS. You can rename it when you load Workbench and put the disk in. I prepared one for you, so just use the one in the attachment to this post
Attached Files
File Type: rar BlacCrypt_Save.rar (629 Bytes, 1002 views)

Hi, Girl2000, and welcome to EAB!

TCD is absolutely right (as usual! ), and the ADF image he has attached above will enable you to save your game.

I'm not sure about Black Crypt, but some games will report a read error if you eject your game disk from DF0: and replace it with your gamesave disk. This is because it needs to read information from the game disk in order to save the game properly.

If you get an error message, just replace your game disk in DF0: and insert the gamesave disk in DF1:

If this trick isn't required for Black Crypt, you still might need it one day.

The WHDLoad install makes playing this RPG so much better.

Thank you for the reactions and the for the attachement.

I'll try it today, but I still have some questions. Do I have to rename the attachment when I open it and put it in DF1?
With Black crypt you can save 2 files (A & B in the game). Is it possible to save more games? I probably need more savedisks with other names then?

And for this RPG to save on HDD? How does that work?
Is it also with de black crypt adf files?
And can anyone explane me how to do that?

Sorry for all the questions, but this is rather new for me.
Thank you for your time

No, you can use it as it is.
About the HD install : I'll see if I find the time to prepare something for you

Edit : Have a look in the zone
To use it go to the 'hard drives' panel and click on 'Add Hardfile...'. Then just click on the '...' button next to Path and choose the BlackCrypt.hdf. Just use the A1200 quickstart for that. It seems you have more save slots and shorter loading times

I clicked hardfile and ... with path, but I can't find a Blackcrypt.hdf file anywhere.I think I need someone who can explain it step by step. I'm not so experienced with this kind of configurations.
In my winuae map I have:
- Roms map with kickstart1.3 and a savedisc
- blackcrypt1.adf, 2 and 3
- savestats map
- save map
- saveImage map
- configuration map

The game works because I can start it up.
So I could make a harddisk but not without help, sorry
Hope to hear you soon

grtz

Have a look here : http://eab.abime.net/faq.php?faq=vb_...ezone_faq_item
Then click on the link in the upper right corner 'The Zone!' and download the BlackCrypt.rar you find there.
Extract it and follow the instructions in my last post.
Hope this way you get it working

Hello, I have found de rar file and downloaded it. Then I found de hdf file. I made de harddisc en put kickstart 3.1 in ROM. the game starts ! I can make my start party, but when I try to save a game, I got the message: software failure. Where do I have to put my savedisc?
I think I 'm almost there...

How about any save disk images at various levels within the game...

Anyone have any to post in the zone?
