The Jetsons: George Jetson and the Secret of Robotopia
This 2-diskette graphic adventure game by Microillusions would be great to have in WHDLoad. It was pretty innovative for 1989, with a cool story and really good graphics. The biggest strike against it would have to be the not one, not two, but THREE stupid maze-style situations.

It sounds like a great game. I’ve never had the pleasure of playing it yet. I agree it would be great to have a WHDLoad version since it sounds like that has not been done yet.

There is one listed on whdownload:
Version 1.0 - 2007-01-12 = 370.34 KB Zip file Which unpacks to 830,703 bytes ??? = Not 2 (full) Disks That file is also linked to SPS http://www.softpres.org/?id=:games&gameid=2270 and that file is "Jetsons: The Computer Game" which is one disk. Text file confirms it ain't the one: "This patch applies to "Jetsons" (c) 1992 PAL Developments/Hi-Tec - 1 disk. Thanks to Tony Aksnes for sending the original!" Yes indeed, that's a completely different game. The one I'm referring to is the one in the longplay that Pyromania linked to on youtube. It was one of the first games I got for my Amiga 500 back in 1989. I have a feeling it didn't get very wide distribution back in the day. It took a lot of the ideas that ICOM implemented and combined it with an amusing yet interesting story. It was made unnecessarily difficult by the mazes I mentioned. Judging by the longplay, I got to about the 40% mark before I got too frustrated with it and moved on to another game. There weren't any walkthroughs for it back then either, so it wasn't until I saw this longplay that I got to see it all the way to the end. Certainly worthy of a WHDLoad entry, in my opinion of course! |

Sadly I don't have enought knowledge to do a whdload version of this game, but i have basic skills to convert ADFs into a single ADF and HDF file!
This has been a simple task to do because - you are on luck - ADFs are standard ADOS disks, and i think that could be easily created a generic whdload version too, but i'm not so good in this way, Aladin is the master about this specific task! ) My versions are based on ADF tosec version of the game: downloading it from EAB FTP (exactly 'Jetsons, The - George Jetson and the Legend of Robotopia v1.0 (1989-11-06)(MicroIllusions)(Disk 'N' of 2)[cr PNA].zip'), merging both disks into one folder and making a bootable ADF/HDF version (tested with WinUAE latest version, both versions work like a charm with really fast ingame loading for the HDF one ) ADF version needs a basic A500+ (NOT A500!) quickstart config with DF0 floppy setted to 3.5" HD (Turbo Mode is higly reccomended) HDF version needs a basic A500 quickstart config with no other specs, and is strongly reccomended because it's faster that the ADF one IMPORTANT: For both versions, avoid to run them with a basic A1200 quickstart config due to graphic glitches that don't occur on A500/A500+ config. Anyway, just uploaded both versions to The Zone: ENJOY! |

Hi Master CFou !!
I could not find the IPF´s for this and because there is no WHDLoad version for it and it´s abandonware i thought; heck why not make a package. Works great tho I had multiple sources; because some disks had read errors and i had to double check them. Game is cracked; was a pain for me to get it working. So, i am little proud of this neat package Maybe somebody have the IPF´s or can make ADF´s out of the Original Disks. (they are not protected, besides the User Manual Check) Somebody ??? Anybody ?? Echoooooo? ... .. .. .. . . . . . . .. Echoooooooo?? |

sometimes in don't understand this fashion to make whdload package for game that has installer script made from developers.
Hardisk game usually require less memory than WHDLoad games and sometimes are also better otpimized, better syncronized in speed between graphics and sound, better save system, faster in loading. WHDLoad is excellent system to have on HD those games that have not own installer script and every Not AmigaDOS games. |

I will look next week for the moment the game is cracked but I have some return to the random WB if I do not use startup-sequence to launch the game I'll check it out next week when I have time to code. |
