So far as I could see, there is no difference between my CD32 with and CD32 without SX32. Intro movie runs smooth enough on both systems. Playing maybe has a very tiny bit of lag between the controller input and the actual moving, but nothing serious and exactly the same on both configurations. So can I conclude that it uses Akiko in both systems?

Both systems I ran from the same CDR. RGB from SX32 and the other one RGB from Kipper2k expansion.

Cheers for that

What processor does your SX32 use? Does Wing Commander work OK on the system?

It's just a SX32 Mk1, with only RAM and IDE, so no processor that takes overfrom the stock 68020 on the mainboard.

I'll try Wing Commander later this week. Maybe I should record some movies from it

So, finally got the time to check Wing Commander. And then I realised the SX32 isn't such an ideal addon as I thought. The additional FastRAM breaks some games, such as Chaos ENgine CD32 (the intro only plays sound, no video) and... Wing Commander, the palette is corrupted. It runs fine when I disable the fastram with the SX32 jumpers. Then I also couldn't see any difference between my CD32 with SX32 and without SX32, both ran at the, IMO unplayable, slow FPS. Heart of the Alien runs smoother I think.

Is there a way to disable fastRAM from, let's say workbench and then have the CD32 reboot with only ChipRAM? I don't feel like opening up de CD32 and changing jumpers everytime I want to play a game that doesn't run with FastRAM.

I recommend you make that request in the Project.CD32 conversions board In theory it should be possible to make say a disc that just boots TUDE and then prompts you to swap disc. Cobe made something like that for Tanks Furry (as TF isn't out of the box CD32 compatible).

The WHDLoad slaves I have for Wing Commander and Chaos Engine CD32 versions do work (from the SX32 CF, starting with WHDLoad (CD32Load not needed), but then I lose CD Audio

Good you pointed me to Tude, maybe I can simply make myself a custom ISO for Wing Commander and Chaos Engine with tude running before the game does.

With PPaint I've done a ColorIcon (256 colors) for classic Amiga Workbench:

Just uploaded what should be the "final" version of HOTA CD32 (will officially launch via cd32.co.uk in a couple of days if no one has any issues with it).

CHANGES FROM ME:
- The promised secret update, which is "The Lost Level" of Another World has been added (context as to what this is: http://earok.net/game/another-world-lost-level)
- 'Out of this World' has been replaced with the Delphine collection edition of Another World. OOTW had a crash near the end of my last attempted play through, hopefully the Delphine edition (which is an "official" copy protection crack) will be more reliable.
(I do realise that means that there's a mismatch between the menu screen and the title screen, but oh well)

CHANGES FROM COBE:
- Audio from the start, middle and end cutscenes has been stretched to properly align with the rate that the CD32 plays it back. Note that it isn't "perfect" sounding, but it's certainly great to have the effects aligning with the action.
- Edited the menu so that "The Lost Level" is the middle option between OOTW and HOTA

Earok! I am glad I found this thread so I can say thanks for all your efforts I have been playing and even streaming Heart of the Alien Redux and The Lost Level and loving them. Way to go! It is really amazing that people here are putting so much time and effort into projects like this. Thank you so much. Did you also so do the Karateka Atari ST port?

Nope, that was done by the "Atari ST --> Amiga" master; meynaf

See this thread; Karateka (ST Port)

He has also done quite a few other releases; take a look here:

wow wow wow! I was not aware of all these ports. Christmas came early this year! I don't know how difficult it would be do do, but maybe there should be a sticky with links to all the Amiga ports in one place for EAB noobs like me? Just a thought. Thanks for all the information. I will hunt these down !

That's a very good idea

There are also some "NES --> Amiga" conversions:

Interesting

So the only change with this v1.1 is as follows?

Quote:
This is unreleased (up to now) version 1.1 from 13.2.2017 withBPR/WIDTH fix for some gfx boards (eg. MNT VA2000).
...I guess no need for me to update my .HDF then as I don't use a gfx board.

I just tested on my ocs A500 with HC508 (1mb, 8mb fast, 50mhz 68000) card and it doesn't work ... I didn't expect it to work, but I'll tell you if anyone tries, I don't know if the problem is OCS or 68000 reason, unfortunately after the intro it simply breaks.

Tried to install HOTA on my 1200 but getting an error. I'm sure it is because I am still very new to HD installs and don't really know what I'm doing.

I have extracted the LHA into my game folder and I see the cover art start file. But when I click on it I get an error that says:
START: file is not executable
START: failed returncode 10

Any ideas??

Have you tried the preinstalled version
https://ftp.grandis.nu/turransearch/...0&httplinks=on

or set the file as executable, just run protect from shell.
