Using .IPF images on a real amiga
Dunno if this has been asked here or in the total-emu, but here it goes
Is there a software that could be used in a real amiga for mounting the .IPF imagefiles as a virtual floppy? I know there are such proggies for ADF's, but is there one with IPF support? |

This was planned for the Amiga IPF library port, but the person responsible has been very busy for a while now.
Of course, all the necessary documentation to use the ipf.device is available on the download page. All it needs is somebody to write the code to do it. |

Heh, just thought of bumping this thread from the abyss to see if things have evolved at all
So Fiath, is the dude still busy or has the development been abandoned for good? |

He is still pretty busy, but no, it has certainly not been abandoned.
In the mean time though, you can now apparently use one of the WHDLoad tools to install IPF's on a real Amiga. |

I have never used it, so I don't really know. But apparently support is in the disk imaging tool to target an IPF instead.

Or just use WinUAE to create the WHD and then transfer!

The beta version of RawDIC has been completed which now supports IPF files. When the WHDLoad team have given it a thorough going over it will be officially released so Amiga users will be able to use IPF's! Hoorah!

IPF2ADF Script
Ok, for anyone who is too lazy to make it, i'm sending this VERY SIMPLE (but working) script.
Edit this file and put adequate paths. this "disk.1 stuff" is because i don't know how to put arguments WITHOUT tracks in WWARP - without tracks (WWARP T:Temp.wwp G $outfile) it doesn't work, after all. Of course you need both mentioned programs |
