Amiga 32 CD Question

If someone offered you an amiga 32cd without psu, but with 6 games for £30 would you take it..?

another question, will regular amiga psu's fit it?

Standard PSUs don't fit. They appear to be identical, but the plug on the end is different. The CD-32 uses a DIN plug (5-pin, I think), whilst the Amiga uses a 5-pin square propriatory connector.

You could always offer him £20 and keep an eye out for a new PSU.

EH? there is nothing stopping you changing the plug on a standard a500/a600 psu guys!
Aminet has the required docs that show you how! ive done it already... many years ago in fact!

the only downer is the psu will be beige, but a can of black vynil dye will soon sort that out

EDIT: here is a file that shows you how to convert a pc power supply to cd32! http://de.aminet.net/aminetbin/find?cd32+psu

Just found the specs of the cd32 power port if you fancy using an a500 psu:

i got one with guess what?
no psu but it had about 20 games.
and no control pad

that link of the pc psu - 32cd psu, will it work with a standard a500 psu?

and will a 6 buttton megadrive pad do the job for the controller?

You can't use a 6 button megadrive pad for all the cd32 buttons it just don't work.

PS - You still got info on those games hammy?

I think there was a doc on the Aminet that described how to hack a 6button megadrive controller to act like a CD32 joypad. If anyone finds it let me know, it interests me!

I posted links to this info in this thread. It wasn't on Aminet, but was an old usenet message someone has saved & put on their web site.

umm i actually have a UK spec CD32 power supply sitting here in my cupboard. Was tested about a month ago by an electrician and is working 100%.

Only thing is I live in New Zealand so postage would hurt if you were interested.
