Original Kid Chaos concept art revealed!
Hi,
I've been talking to former Magnetic Fields artist, Andrew Morris, who has been helping me with my [ Show youtube player ] on the subject, and he kindly agreed to share a scan of his original design for 'Cosmic Kitten' as he was then known. The buildup to the unveiling starts at 3:44 if you haven't got the time or inclination to watch the whole thing, which is pretty long it has to be said. I don't believe in half measures! |

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Wayne, is it too long because you aren't interested in this particular game or because I'm a boring Muppet? I have considered that, I won't be shocked, honest. ;D
Gzegzolka, I think you must have got that from one of the non-English mags because I don't remember reading any specific details about the cat/fox. It was all very vague here in the UK. No pics appeared and the critics hadn't seen the sketches. I suppose it comes down to who asks which questions. Maybe the British writers weren't so interested in the fine print. Yeah, I don't think hedgehogs come equipped with the right enzyme (lactase if I remember correctly) to digest milk but they lap it up all the same. Humans aren't so compatible either really. |

Yes, I try to get as much different amiga magazines as it is possible, sometimes those mags contains interesting exclusive stuff nowhere else to be seen. That preview comes from Joystick 1993 October, I think it was issue 42.
As for Your video, it is interesting, but that concept art looks poor just like little children drawing in comparison to how cool other concept arts could look, for example LightQuest or Starrush got awesome high quality concept arts. |

I'm not familiar with that magazine so will have to look it up. OCR plus translation can often reveal interesting new details... and some bizarre results depending on the language. Google seems to mangle German in particular in my experience.
I'm not sure at what stage the sketch was drawn. I suppose it could have been a very early, quick draft just to give Shaun, Andrew and Ocean something to discuss. Biro has been used in places which would seem to back up that theory. Andrew said he'd be up for a Q&A session so if anyone has any you'd like me to ask feel free to PM me. |

https://www.mass-modern.top/kid-vici...re-p-4360.html I wonder why they do not use this artwork by Bob Wakelin.
As for my questions, sure I have a lot of them and it would be cool to get some answers. I will send You PM today. |

Nice find, I've never seen that before. Stunning artwork, though it does make Kid look even more unlikeable and unappealing as the hero. This interpretation would have made a perfect baddie.
