Fresh 4000

I got my hands on my first Amiga 4000/40

Its kind of a basic setup
16mb fast mem, 3.0 rom

I want to expand it big time, but whit out the need for a tower

Things i want to have in it:
Better grapics / card?
Usb ports
ethernet (not wireless)
Difrent Harddrive, maybe even a flashcard

I have been roaming amigakit.com
The Mediator PCI 4000Di Busboard To bad sold out, only the 4000T version
The DENEB USB 2.0 CONTROLLER €137
The EASYNET 10/100 NETWORK CARD simple but efective

One for sure thing is the 3.1 Rom

My question is, what is the best way to turn this in to a fantastic machine

Without a Mediator for the A4000 the easynet kit will useful as a doorstop only.

You can try to buy the 4000Di directly from Elbox.

Picasso IV gfx card (~£150 on eBay) is a good buy.

Apollo 4040 (~£150) also a good buy, specially if you get one which can be upgraded to A4060.

Wrong 3.1 ROM, mate: you must buy the 4000D 3.1 ROM, not a replacement 4000T one, they are different.

Ask Matthew to fix your order.

BTW: ALL 4000T came with 3.1 ROM.

Always good to be on EAB
Pic's are comming for sure

If your love for Amiga is big enough you wil be crazy enough to spend on it.

The only thing left on my 4000, is a 4040card what can be upgraded to a 4060
and a flash drive system ad HD

You can try use an A2091 as SCSI controller without its ROM.

Well you are on the right track

The Ultimate A4000 system would consist of:

A4000 with 3.1 ROMS
Cyberstorm PPC with 060/PPC triple boot OS 3.9/OS4.0/MorphOS PowerUP
Mediator A4000Di with Radeon 9250 (OS 3x), or Voodoo 4/5 (OS4.0)
Deneb USB with OS 3.9 BB2/3 modules in the flash
Indivision AGA
ACard UW SCSI->IDE->CF (or just to IDE if you have a huge drive)

First thing I would do is to ditch the A3640 , get a Cyberstorm MK3 or PPC

3.1 roms - in order
Mediator A4000Di - next order > no Voodoo 4/5
Indivision AGA - in order > erm...why a voodoo if i have this one?
Deneb USB - next order
what do you meen whit "BB2/3 modules in the flash"?

Ah yes the mighty Cyberstorm MK3 or PPC. I have found one for 635US$
