cdtv wont power up

hello there i got a cdtv for some reason clock is on but i press the on button and no cdtv checked fuses in power supply and lead all fine ,so it looks like mummy board broken, does anyone know what stops the power getting through the board is it easy or a real bummer skip time lol.

Have you got any AC? at live and neutral contacts (be careful, I hate mains, ).

Or power it on and off then check the main smoothing cap (if you can access it). See if there is residual voltage on it.

If you have no AC, then it has to a fuse. Or something associated with the mains input.

EDIT:- can you see how the clock is powered? could be a standby circuit fault.

hi yep its the power supply not putting out enough only 3v on the 12v lines oops.

Interesting. Sounds like something is dragging it down.

Whats the voltage with it off and then with it on?

same im going to wire a atx power supply to it and get her booting again pain in the bum but cdtv power supplys are crap anyway,so it will work alot better.

who me know i dint sell it good job too now power supply gone but ill stick a AT 1 in there that will be enough power for it ,cdtv 1,s were crap anyway lol.
