Our first release on Amiga as 'The Light Circle'. Must be in late 1986 or early 1987 iirc.... Written in 68k with the metacomco assembler.
Before K-SEKA was available.

Good times...

First of all welcome to EAB Factor5

It would be great if you could have a look at the HOL entries for Factor 5 games and post about any corrections or additions.

Welcome @Factor5 l remember the intro of Masterblazer, the fractal part from Achim Moller. I thought at the time that Rescue On Fractalus was coming to the Amiga…
Was it just a tech demo or a game was planned?
I met some of you back then in Cologne, Holger Schmidt come to mind.
One of the best GameDev team to me.

Thx,
the Masterblazer Intro from Achim was indeed just a tech demo back then.

According to https://gregdonner.org/workbench/wb_12.html WB1.2 was released in 1986/1987 that allowed the RAM: disk, that would have helped speed up the assemble and link times a bit back in those days?

Was it all Copperlist code back in the early days or were you still using the OS to _LVOInitBitmap(a6), _LVOInitRastport(a6)?

I'm also guessing that C-Mon 2.02 was another well used tool?

I have absolutely no idea nor remembering anything on how we did that.
All the sourcecodes are gone sadly....
I personally did a lot of try and error learning with the Addison/Wesley HRManuals.
I will dig deeper in the Factor5 records next weekend, maybe i will find something from the early days.
