Sound input?
Just wondered how well the emulators handle input to an Amiga sound sampler, convering stereo to 8 bit through the parallel port.
There are other ways for Amigas to get inputs, so I was interested in how well that is all implemented. Even mono from a microphone input into 8 bit via simulated and scanned port would be nice, but to make it truly accurate might be quite tricky, as some sampling software turned the OS off and just used the CPU to time the sample interval. It's a feature that maybe would let more Amiga software be successfully emulated, and if such a feature already is emulated to a perfect extent, GREAT. |

Parallel port sound sampler is already emulated.
Real sampler on PC parallel port is not possible AFAIK. |

Ha, it's theoretically possible to plug in hardware like that, but very very silly to try to implement reliably. Fair enough.
If UAE can do a parallel port from a sound source already, then it's not a big deal, just a question of how well it does it with hacky nasty software like mine. Possibly very well indeed, I'll have to try it and find out. |
