Preserving CD ROM Games

I wonder if it is possible to preserve CDROMs and use them as ipf files. I know that optical media is not that sensible like magnetic ones, but the goal of SPS is to preserve software for the future from all media AFAIK.
So could you guys tell me if it is possible and how could we contributors make dumps of the CDs?
Are you interested in something like this and i wonder how this could be used for later projects...e.g. how to use an CD ipf image in Winuae.

Don't think ISO caters for copy protections! There were/are many CD/DVD protections used especially for games, a list of some can be found HERE

There are already programs that do preserve various copy protections found on CDs so i would say it would be double work to write a new one.

Old Amiga CD games don't have any special copy protection. ISO+WAV (done with EAC) is good enough.

Please contribute to http://redump.org A lot of Amiga stuff still needs to be verified, but we are getting there.
