AmigaKit WTF?...
I also posted this on AmiBay, but hopefully by posting it here also will bring the Quality back to AmigaKit.
Sorry, I am not normally one to gripe, especially in a public forum. I love AmigaKit and the quality Usually is top notch, but... Look, I understand with moving and Amiwest and such, they are busy, but this is so unexceptable, I am surprised it made it past quality control. I just got in my second batch of the new "Battery-Hacks". The first batch was fine, although I thought the legs were a bit to thin. This second batch I got in is just hot glued together- HOT Glued on a solder part? the actually battery holder is very high of the little board. Someone couldn't be bothered to actually push the 2 parts together? It looks like they hired a 5 year old to slap these together Come on guys, this is just terrible for you. I know you are only charging a few dollars, but the quality is way out the door here, defiantly not your best work by far. I just wish I had taken pictures of the first batch to show everyone the difference in quality and construction. The first batch even said amigaKit on them, this batch does not- I would not want my name on these either. Last edited by quarkx; 21 October 2012 at 08:33. |

Just as a matter of comparison, I have been saving my last one from DJBase for my A4000. Both units cost the same price, but the quality and craftsmanship are light years apart. Somebody needs to go all Steve Jobs on their Butts..

Ok, I got some sleep and then I went over the one I installed yesterday. It sits at least twice as high as it needs to be. I am seriously thinking of Unsoldering it from the board and "Fixing" it. Although, it doesn't look too bad, I am disappointed in it.
Maybe I am spoiled by AmigaKit's reputation in the past, and maybe I am crazy for Expecting the quality to meet or beat a small one man operation like DJBase or Kipper2K's fine work. |

Ok, do over at Amibay, I have been told in no certain terms to STFU and never complain about Amigakit -ever. They have a rant thread, in order to rant about this sort of thing, but the moment you complain about a great asset to the community, they close and lock the thread...If I protest, they probably will ban me. Talk about a gestapo attitude.
Don't get me wrong, I love Amigakit and will continue to order from them, I don't want or expect any refund, I just hope the quality improves over this. I doubt even if AmigaKit will respond to this thread, for I am sure they have seen it. |

@ Quarkx
If you have an issue with the supplier, take it up with the supplier; why do you feel it is necessary to muck -spread in this way? We closed the thread as we don't take sides like that on AmiBay - we aren't the ones with an issue with AmigaKit and we aren't your proxy, either. If your issue was relatively minor and could be easily resolved, why blow it all out of proportion? I didn't say don't ever complain about AmigaKit - I said don't do that on our site, when it's more appropriate to sort it out directly with AmigaKit. I doubt that EAB will want to be your battleground either - I'll let the Mods on here decide. |

I am in California currently and away from the office: very disappointed that we did not have the opportunity to assist the customer on our Support Ticket system. This is the first time we have heard of this complaint. We would have liked the chance to address the issue directly with the customer using the system we setup for customer help and support before being copied over various forums.

Thanks Matt,
I didn't use the ticket system, because these do work, so they are not technically defective. I just wish to see the quality improve on them. I know with the move and Amiwest, you guys are busy- Real Busy there. There is no way of just e-mailing you with photos of the situation, so the forums are technically the only way of showing you what the issue is. |

You didn't even try to sort this with AmigaKit directly first before creating those threads? I'd say you should always try to sort it directly first. Seems like it wouldn't have been a problem to get this over with pretty quick.

Again WHY would I use the ticket system, when these technically work? I am bringing to light the Quality, not the fact that they don't work or they are defective (which they are not) the whole ticket system would have been a huge amount of waisted time, and nobody would have actually cared or responded to them.

Please don't let this thread deteriorate into an argument. I would say that the explanation in your last post justifies what you have done.
Let's now just wait to see how this is resolved. |

I think now we can all move on from this. Matt has seen the photos and is aware of the situation. The ball is in his court now sort of speaking, and will be dealt with as he sees fit. I am out of it now.
