miami won`t work

Hi,I can`t get miami to start with winUAE,if I do manage to get it going,will I be able to sign up with freeserve because I am using windows XP and freeserve do not yet cater for XP.

I hope someone can help.

I doubt Miami is necessary for WinUAE at all?!

Miami is a TCP/IP stack, and as far as I'm concerned, this is accomplished in WinUAE by BSD socket emulation.

I think what he wants to do is to connect through Miami to his ISP because he cant do so through WinXP...

At least that's why I did not say a thing about bsdsocket.library emulation

Anyway, I think serial port emulation is not quite right in WinUAE and this wold not work, but I'll let Toni speak

For running Miami you need to disable bsdsocket because Miami replaces bsdsocket.library.

You also need to install Miami properly, there are three archives needed: the main archive, one CPU archive and a GUI archive. Depending on which GUI archive you use you also need the corresponding GUI library, either MUI, GadTools (ReAction) or GTLayout.

Finaly you need to configure the serial port of WinUAE to point to the COM port where your Modem is connected to.

When all is configured and installed right, MiamiInstall and Miami should run well with any ISP.
