Humans cd32 level codes???

Does anyone have or know where I can get the level codes for the CD32 version of Humans as the ECS ones dont work!

I can try to extract them from the binary if noone has them and also change them so they're trivial for the whdload version.

The ones with * at the side don't work, seem to be typos in the code! No, I haven't tested them all, just a few random ones as it's a right BALLACHE inputting them in WinUAE when you don't have CD32 controller!

it would not be a good idea to add non-working codes to HOL.

Feel free (any of you two, or other people) to post here when you have double checked a code is working. Then we can add them as they come.

Feel free to test all the codes yourself, then you can add the ones that work

Or, you could do what I did and choose codes at random! Tried about 10 and they all worked, the 4 bad codes won't work as stated as there are errors in the game code for those.

The random part won't do. Imagine if you checked HOL for level codes (for Humans or any other game) and found some didn't work. You'll probably post it as an issue and ask why it was added to HOL in the first place.

Your extracting the codes from the startup-sequence was a very good idea and it is a good starting point.

My post may not have been clear enough but the idea is to have people who are interested in the game do a sort of collaborative work (in this thread and then added to HOL) to double check the codes when they have a bit of time.
For instance, next time BIG D wants to play the game, he tests 5 codes and report about it. Meanwhile you (or anyone else reading this thread) do the same. And/or each time you get a code when playing the game you note it and double check with the list you posted.

The codes were extracted from the game files, the startup-sequence only mentioned there was 160 levels!

I've been trying to set my USB Comp Pro joystick to emulate the CD32 controller (it has 4 independant buttons) as it would make inputting codes much easier but I just cannot get it to map anything, i've given up in infuriating frustration that something so easy can be so difficult!

OK, i've sorted the button mapping out, so tested the level codes 1 to 20 (level 4 code will not work) and they are all accepted, so that's 19 codes working!

These are the codes for the ECS version of the game. The contributor on the Gamefaqs page probably mistook the CD32 entry there for the ECS entry.

Now tested level codes 41 to 100, only level 57 and 83 not working. I missed 83 as it has a lower case letter when it should be upper case, so at least putting all the codes in helped spot that one! Have updated the list in post #3

I already came across that gamefaq page when searching for CD32 codes myself, saw they were not the CD32 ones but rest assured our codes will be the correct ones

I suppose if you have managed to finish level 3 you get password for level 4 (873EB27FE) but if you enter this as password it is not accepted for any reason!?

The data file lists it as:

BONUS, YOUR DECISION!
873EB27FE

The problem is it uses 9 characters while the game only accepts 8. You're not able to enter that 9th character so the game doesn't accept it.

I might play the game later today or tomorrow to see what it gives for the level code.

EDIT: And I should add that the other ones that are marked as not working all have lowercase letters. If the game is doing a straight character comparison, it won't work since the game only accepts uppercase characters. I've verified those as being lowercase in the data file.

This sort of thing could be fixed in the WHDLoad slave to maybe convert codes to entirely uppercase before the comparison, or something similar.

@mai: Radertified is correct, level 4 code is 9 characters but game only accepts 8 characters so it won't work!

Similarly, level codes for 33, 57, 83 and 112 all have a lower case letter in them so they don't work either!

You could master a new ISO with the corrected codes though!

OK, have now tested EVERY SINGLE LEVEL CODE and only 5 codes don't work due to mistakes in the codes used in the game! So the list I made in post #3 has all the CD32 codes, so that's 155 working codes and 5 non-working codes!
