ACA1221EC Mem not seen in ClassicWB

Really need your help on this as it is doing my head in. Bought the wife a ACA1221EC but CWB only sees the 1MB which CWB uses most of that leaving 312,436 other mem free

to save people commenting and me saying done that, this is what we/I have tried so grab a cuppa and read on...

Downloaded the and installed ACA1221V1_2Beta1
Downloaded ACA1221ec (ACAname and ACA1221ecFlash)
Put jumper on maprom pin alone
Put jumper on maprom and middle pin
taken jumper off completely
jumper currently on middle and unprotect

I have put acamaprom I in startup-sequence so now running ACAControl gives me the following info

Version :
Serial : OK
Unlock jumper: unlocked!
Trial jumper : Closed!
Overdrive : Contact Icomp for firmware upgrade (CPU's mask *MUST* be 0E30G!) (this bothers me!!!)
MapRom: Enabled
Memsize : 9MBytes
CPU clock : 21.28Mhz
Trials left : 105


I read about flashing it but dont know how to use the flash tool, I'm a hardware engineer by trade so pleeeease people exact instructions I beg for my sanity...


off on a tangent when I put my ACA1221 (Non EC) in wife's 1200 it worked fine except keyboard stopped working in games. Not sure what the board rev is but wondering if its the caps on back of board!!!

Basically, put jumper on middle and the other pin. Not one marked maprom. This will put the card in safe mode.

Run aca1221ecflash without arguments and it suggest safe defaults and if you follow it through, it will flash the card. That should restore the card to default.

Then put jumper on middle and maprom pins. Boot up again.

What does sysinfo show for memory?
Also I guess avail command?

One more thing, you mentioned using aca1221 non ec, you didn’t install the corresponding software did you? Installing for both cards will also cause library conflicts when trying to use the tools.

Credit where credit is due...jagLally, you suggested using the flash tool in your PM so well done (sorry Christopher if you're reading this).

So IF you are having problems with ACA1221EC only showing 1MB use aca1221ecflash and that will fix it.

Now the bad news... its doing exact same as my 1221 in wife's 1200 i.e. try to play a game and keyboard locks up only CTRL A A works BUT 1221EC is currently in my machine and she is playing Arcade Pool.. suppose i should open a new thread.

Not sure I follow what you are saying. Is the ACA1221ec working in both your A1200s or only in yours?

If it's working in yours and not in your wife's, I'd say it's a strong indicator that the card is fine and there is some other fault in your wife's A1200.

I think you are saying your non ec card A1221 is also showing no extra memory in your wife's A1200. Another indicator pointing to a fault in the Amiga.

So it must be a fault with her 1200

Or something installed on HDD. Does it do it from floppy run game?
