Help NovaCoder build a 1200 out of spares thread!
Hiya,
I've found it's too damn hard to develop AGA software without a real machine to test it on so I've decided to get myself a 1200 again Anyway as I'm currently as skint as a skint person I thought I'd ask what bits and pices you guys had lying around gathering dust which I could give a good home to I live in Melbourne Australia BTW so you'd need to be a local to keep postage costs down (which I will of course be paying for.....I'm not THAT skint!). I think I've already MB sorted thanks to Vairn so I'm after the following: 1) Case (maybe left over from a tower conversion?) 2) Bits that go in the case Yep that should cover it |

Ok dude, this is what I found.
1 Amiga 1200 mobo 1 Case with yellowing, and keyboard leds. 1 Amiga 500 power supply one floppy cable, no floppy drive tho.. one 44pin to 40 pin ide cable Turned it on, showed the 3.1 boot screen. I also have a sd card to ide adapter, but it needs a molex power adapter. |

Cool, glad the MB is alive!
It looks like I've just manged to secure a nice white case and keyboard The MB & power supply will come in very handy though You can use this Calculator to work out a postage cost. Let me know how much the postage will cost and I'll send you my address and PayPal the money over. Thanks Vairn |

Hey, this thread needs some posts (support) from time to time...
How does the thing go? I could only support with some software. Nobody donating the Idefix Express? Last edited by Retrofan; 28 December 2010 at 10:48. |

Hiya,
Yep the MB is in the post (thanks to Vairn), so when I get it I'll prob send if off to get the caps checked etc. Powersupply and sound card is also sorted, picking up a new case early next year. The biggest issue is the accelerator, would really like to get one of Jens new 56Mhz puppies but the price is too high for me at the moment. I'll have to put a post on AmiBay to see if I can get someone to sell me a FixExpress (or get one off eBay). |

Hiya,
A Delfina 'flipper edition' My last 1200 just had a Paula and always sounded nasty with AHI so I thought I'd try a real sound card this time (ScummVM AGA now supports AHI). Thanks for the MB by the way, it's in great condition and it sounds like ID3 is a good revision to have too (no timiing issues). I'm going to send it off to AmigaKit to get them to give it the once over before I plug a load of stuff into it. When Jens releases the Indivision AGA Mrk2 later in the year with it's chunky mode (Graffiti), I'll update ScummVM and should get a nice speed boost. I think the hardest thing to track down will be a second-hand IDE-Express, the standard IDE is just too damn slow for me. |

It had an issue with my PPC board random lockups and crashes.
I think IDEfix had issues and would cause it to crash if you used it. Without IDE-fix software installed, it worked fine though, I don't know if that was just part of the PPC not working. Another thing, was the randomly the Right mouse button would stay pressed all the time. (it isn't the mouse cause the mouse works fine on my new one). So I ordered a replacement from AmigaKit, and it worked fine. So that got put in my old 1200 wedge case for storage. One of the new ACA30/56 would be nice, but since I have an 030/50, I wouldn't be able to justify it, let alone to my wife. Last edited by Vairn; 07 January 2011 at 06:42. Reason: Cause. |
