Amiga 4000 limitations

Can someone point me in the direction or if they can answer me on what limitations I have as far as maximum drive capacity for Amiga OS 3.1, 3.5 and 3.9 on an A4000?
Can I use 30 and 40GB IDE hard drives with the 4000 running these new OSes?
Is there a partition size limitation? I recall there was under 2.04 I believe.

3.1 if I remember, had a limit of 4gb.

In 3.5 and 3.9, I believe this has been resolved, but I don't have a drive big enough to test it

I have no idea how big the drive can be now

That was fast. All this without the need to upgrade the IDE firmware onboard or will I need 3rd party controllers?
This is the system I picked up:

Amiga 4000D
2MB chip / 14MB fast
Data Flyer autoboot SCSI card
Picasso II
2 IDE drives
Toshiba SCSI CD-ROM
Keyboard
Mouse

New scene!!

Ok, so enough with the basic questions, now back to the topic of this forum, which is what is "new" as far as the Amiga is concerned? I used to have plenty of demos dating back to the Amiga 1000. When the AGA Amigas came out I pretty much was at the end of my time with the Amiga. The demos on the OCS and ECS chipset were excellent enough, but I can imagine the AGA demos must of totally blown them away.
Are there still some groups from back then active today?

Demos. um....I haven't really kept up.

Fairlight are still semi-active.
I think possibly "The Black Lotus" are active.

I really have no idea
