ToolManager problem

I have Workbench 3.1.0 running on an expanded Amiga 4000 emulated under WinUAE. It has a RTG graphics card (uaegfx, 8MB) and 10MB of RAM (2MB chip + 8MB Z3). I installed ToolManager, MUI, MagicWB, Picasso96 and ClassAct. I tried to add a icon to the Dock, but clicking "Image Object" does absolutely nothing. What to do?

Edit: Upgraded RTG RAM from 4MB to 8MB.

It is the Aminet version, of course.

I tried to install ToolManager on an OS 3.1 RTG and I have not encountered any problem, if I understand correctly when you click on the tab "Image Object" (as from my screenshot) nothing happens?

if you use toolmanager v3.1, there is a problem in this verion. i also have that problem that toolmanager not displaying icons. in german forum (a1k) i got an advice to to get rid of toolmanager v3 and install toolmanager v2.1 instead. well, i never did that, i just stuck with only text menu entrys without icons as i'm too lazy to wipe out v3.1 and install v2.1 version of toolmanager.

anyway, doing this should solve the problem:
install toolmanager v2.1: ftp://ftp.funet.fi//pub/amiga/fish/8...oolManager.lha (contains bin and gfx packages)
then the update v2.1a: ftp://ftp.demon.nl/pub/Museum/amiga/...Manager21a.lha

or if you prefer aminet, here are aminet links for toolmanager v2.1:
toolmanager v2.1 bin: http://aminet.net/util/wb/ToolManager2_1bin.lha
toolmanager v2.1 gfx: http://aminet.net/util/wb/ToolManager2_1gfx.lha
toolmanager v2.1a update: http://aminet.net/util/wb/ToolManager21a.lha

I have not tested the icons, but the v3.1 with the brushes works well, with a little effort I managed to create ToolManager RTG with brushes of high quality graphics, see screenshots.

good for you when it works for you... fact is: there are configurations like my ecs amiga 500 plus with aca500plus and obviosly the one mario uses for example, where it doesn't work. and fact is also, that version 3.1 is just a "re-write" of original version 2.1(a).

I wonder, does ToolManager use datatypes to load the images? If so, it won't read icons unless you install a datatype to read icons. There are a couple available on Aminet that you can try.

I don't think Daedalus, he probably lacks some library, I tried to load the icons on TooManager 3.1 and I didn't find any problem, see screenshot

if there would be some library missing, then icons woulnd't work at all. but toolmanager v3.1 was too selective. some icons worked. if you added another icon, then it stopped nothing was displayed. also these two icons (which used to be displayed in the first place) didn't work as well after adding more icons. all icons i tested were from magicwb package, in other words: same source... as i said, on a1k board i learned, that this problem comes from this 3.1 re-write-version of toolmanager. it should be gone, if you install v2.1(a)... i just never followed that advice because i'm too lazy and it's too complicated for me to completely get rid of toolmanager v3.1 in order to install v2.1 version. and what i also mentioned already: this problem seems to occur mostly in combination with ecs screens... if you prefer sticking with that re-write v3.1, do it, no one will hinder. i just oosted that same advice, someone gave to me. you decide, if it's useful or not, but i want no dispute for just posting an advice. anyway, i'm out, i said what i had left to say...

maybe in future it's better for me to simply stfu and keep any advices to myself. it ends in dispute anyway...

For me, clicking on the buttons does not do anything either. However, dragging icons onto the window inserts them and opens up the properties windows. So that's a possible work-around to try.

If you don't have some "MUI" libraries (which are not part of the package) the double click to add brushes or icons doesn't work. Of course it depends on the version of MUI. To MUI version 3.9/4/5 you need to add only one library to MUI 3.8 you need to add more than one library.

Can you attach any icons that you don't want to load?

Why do you miss some MUI libraries? ser you're using MUI 3.8 you need: "Pophotkey.mcc" and "Popposition.mcc"

Strange, it works for me on all the OSs, until I'm convinced that something is missing from your system?
