WinUAE and Intel Bay Trail Z3735F CPU Atom mini PC
I'm about to buy a Intel Bay Trail Quad Core Z3735F CPU Windows 8.1 mini pc (http://bit.ly/1IBYdHd) as dedicated Amiga emulation machine in these days.
I wonder, is it possible to full A4000/060 (or /040mhz) emulation with this Quad core 1.3GHz Atom CPU fluently? And is there any hope for Amiga OS 4.1 FE? Thanks in advance. |

All I can tell you is that I bought one of those ( http://m.banggood.com/Vensmile-W10-Q...-p-970662.html) and that amikit is running pretty well in full HD true color. So it probably is close to what you 3xpect.
A remark : amikit is not requiring highest compatibility modes. I noticed that even some a500 games can "lag" on these little pcs when they require highest hw compatibility settings. So it all depends on what you intend to use the emulation for. |

I don't know about 060 speeds, but I have ran WinUAE on my Win 8.1 tablet that has a similar Atom CPU and it runs very well. There might be hiccups but my tests were not extensive. I think I got some audio hiccups some times, but everything else was running fine.

Most A500 games will work, even in cycle-exact mode. Accurate 68020+ modes will run too slowly. Basic WB setup with JIT probably works fine too but sound glitches are possible.
PPC emulation most likely will be painfully slow. |

Thank you very much for very helpful answers. I can forget PPC emulation and can try it on my i7 mac or i7 pc laptop. Then i will stick wb3.9.
I expect listening 'mod's, watching demos. Gaming is important of course. Is there anybody trying to play 3d games like "Alien Breed 3D"? 20-25 years ago i could play it on standart A1200. Now i expect little bit more performance at least. I wonder, if external mini USB audio sound cards can be a solution for audio hiccups? It's just an idea |

The only thing I have in my tablet is ASIO and this isn't supported by WinUAE but that still doens't mean ASIO would give better audio, it's just a CPU problem I think. |
