Free A500 boxed in Newcastle, UK

I've had a spare boxed A500 (original 1.2/3) for ages now and I'm never going to get round to using it so if you can collect it you can have it free. It WAS working 100% the last time I used it.

Comes with manuals and boxed games etc.

PM me if you want it, it MUST be collected, I won't post it, it's too big & I want it to go to a real fan, not someone who will just sell it on ebay.

Cheers.

I have my fingers crossed on this one lol, I can finally test out my mods to Xenon 2 on real hardware.

Market is so full of people profiting for inflated prices in Amigas, It is nice to see not everyone is after money and rothers seems to be someone that values the Amiga community over profit, we need more people like this.

I didn't PM in the first 30 seconds, so I may be out of luck on this one.

Give us a video of it being turned on after so long, I'm so curious to know if it will boot up. Also I've no idea what disks were left in the box, apologies if Stag3 or something is in there, I was a teenager once

Omg stag is a classic lol, those days before the Internet lol.

I sure will video it, sadly there is only one TV in the house old enough to have analogue input, which is my sons room. I've told him its mine . Will have to check power brick outputs before powering it on just to be safe.

If I were able to collect I would!

I never sell anything, much to my Wife's annoyance she thinks im nuts having so much stuff.

Somebody who is unable to afford things and wants back into the amiga world needs this machine! I would be gutted to see an Ebay fleecer get their hands on it, seen it happen too many times now.

Mentioning no names but I've seen people buy and sell these and a ridiculously inflated price! From being a hobby it has become a museum collection.

Well she booted up fine after removing the A501 expansion. Sadly that was another victim of the Varta Compnay.

I removed the battery and repaired the broken traces, but no joy. One of the ram chips got quite toasty, so Id say its dead. Luckily these are still produced in modern form factor today .

Here she is booting and starting up SWIV. Monochrome picture is perfect, however colour composite has alot of ghosting. Tried 2 A510's both had the same output. Will make a RGB scart next, and also recap her.

Thanks again rothers, she will be very well loved and looked after. I have introduced my son to Amiga gaming today, including great multiplayer action on lemmings.

Amazing! So glad to see it getting used again! They really were built like tanks!

It's been all around the UK with me that machine, never did any work on it, shame about the expansion battery but I last used the machine about 4 years ago and you never think 'ah this is the last time' so left it in there
