Personally, I find "My Documents" for just that ... documents lol.

Everything else has to go in my 'Games' folder under the relevant subsections to keep things neat and tidy e.g. DOS, Amiga etc.

I find it quite tedious Amiga Forever puts the ROMS in a different location, but personally, as I use that as a standalone program, I don't care, just like when applications would install to Program Files, but if I am doing my own setup, then in the "Games" folder it is!

Home directory are as old as network file systems (& access rights).

Edit (see below post #25) : Difference is : if several users are using the same computer, they don't want the ROMs to be shared. Business is business (wild guess of course )
Because if in Cloanto's mind, the KS ROMs are "user files" it's possible to share them as like as everybody want . Don't everybody do what he/she wants with his/her user files ?
.

Out of curiosity, where is installed the "CAPSImg.dll". Also in "My Documents" ?

But the Cloanto default location *is* a public, shared location, accessible by all users who have an account on that computer. Which is a nice feature if more than one user might want access to them, or if they're to be synced with other systems.

As DamienD says, it's in the WinUAE directory.
