CD32 emulation with real CD-ROM

Hello,

is it possible to add real cdrom support? Or is this already supported?

Best regards

Hi,

It is certainly possible. WinUAE contains relevant code for Windows, and E-UAE has code for Linux and OS X access. But there are several complications:
- Need to integrate different code for different OSes - much work to implement everything, test that it works, and support it.
- Direct CD access does not work smoothly in all cases on all OSes (especially OS X).
- In many cases, direct CD access requires root access or fiddling with device permissions.
- Recent versions of libscg, used by one of the E-UAE CD implementations, is no longer GPL.

(If GNU libcdio is usable for this purpose, one libcdio implementation common for all platforms would be nice).

So all in all, much work, and little motivation on my part
