Dary was working on AmigaSYS 5, not much more is known.

If it's ever released it should have Scalos as an optional desktop.
The UAE version must have support for 1080p if not a 4k resolution.
Wich means bigger icons and fonts.

The latest Scalos can scale icons on the fly, has support for tt-fonts and can display any type of icon available on the amiga even on 3.1 only systems.
All that without the infamous AfA or the superb PeterK icon.library.

I say if Dary ever gets in the mood or finds the time to work on a version 5 he should at least consider to try it.
Amikit somehow treats it as an orphan(maybe because it has problems with AfA). Wich I think is imho not fair.
It's by far not as good as DOpus. But it does only claim to be "the better Workbench".
And that is more than true.Even the old v1.2 is magnitudes better than a raw 3.9.The Classic Workbench packs or AIAB are good examples.

I wonder what for is Scalos good for, i installed it on WB 3.1 a dont see too much improvements?

Today i just tested AmigaSys its better that ClassicWB, only need upgrade of WHDLoad and better browser as Netsurf.

I was only dissapointed that AmiQuake is not working, some hostname is not find problem, but its same on very "UAE distrobution" which i installed..

Hope so, I really like AmigaSYS. Wish I could donate more to the project but my current situation doesn't allow it. I will in the future though.

Well, the website has gone and no news on here. It looks like AmigaSYS is no more, that is really saddening! It was a great Workbench environment for emulation and the one I used most for that purpose.

AHA! That's good, must be the amigasys.com address that's gone dead. That is the one in my bookmarks, will update it now.

Does anyone know if Amigasys will work on a Raspberry Pi (either 3 or 4)? I see that Linux is supported but, nothing specific to the Pi.

Is anyone still here? I'm trying to install AS4 AGA on a CF card. Prepared the card with diskpart (clean), then partitioned in HDtoolbox and formatted with WinUAE. After this I booted from a wb3.1 install disk+the amigasys4.hdf+my new cf, and copied everything on the system disk to the system partition on my CF card. I did Show all files too.

When I boot from only the CF card in WinUAE, it works perfectly, and everything is there.
But when I plug the CF into my Amiga1200, nothing happens on boot. Just a black screen for minutes. I can't even reach the boot options.
Why does it not work in the Amiga, when it works in WinUAE?

I used the Amiga1200/4000 "easy" archive, I have a TF1260, so I chose 68060 during install, and installed MMUlibs afterwards to correctly detect the CPU.

System partition is 300MB. The rest is 1.7GB. Using OS3.1. Didn't change filesystem so it's FFS. It's odd that it works fine in WUAE but not on the 1200.
I used the HDF 1200 archive for installing. I just dragged all the folders over to my CF system partition, thought it would just boot then. System: is bootable in HDtoolbox.

This is the first time I've set up a CF card from scratch so I might have missed something.

I could try to pull out the 1260 and see if that helps..
I wish the package had included a 4GB disk image you could just burn straight to a CF card with winimage..but alas, I have to make my own card, and I understand file size was an issue when this was made

Which HD Controller have you set on WinUAE, for compatibility best choice is:

"Commodore A600/A1200/A4000 IDE".

If the problem persists there could be a CF "Hardware" incompatibility.

AmigaSYS was my favorite Distribution, very polished and functional, HERE some screenshots of my various AmigaSYS and other OS Amiga RTG

Did you enable full RGB on CF? when setting it up?

What about Max Transfer?
