You probably need a hex editor to do this.

It depends which disk it is and how it's done there. There certainly isn't one standard for this
Some just might print text file on the shell window with the Type command, then just check from S:startup-sequence which file it types, and edit the file with a text editor. If there's a crack intro, it might be an executable file on the disk, and if it's not crunched, then you might be able to edit it with a hex editor or CEd or anything that can edit binary files. But touch only the characters that already clearly belong to the text which will be printed on screen, otherwise you are likely to break the whole executable. If the intro is on a bootblock, you need some other kind of editor that can edit bootblocks or disk contents in binary, and hope the text would be in plain text there too |

dazman97; if you require help from people then you really need to provide more details i.e. what is not working, any error messages, what have you tried so far etc...
Anyway, check your PMs... I've checked / fixed the "newzap.adf" that you found so you can now boot / run the program |

I've never used NewZap to be honest.
When I want to use an Amiga hex editor I just load my "ClassicWB Lite 3.1" .HDF and launch the Hex Editor i.e. "FileX" Tried to make an .ADF for you but was unsuccessful... Maybe others can give you suggestions or just quickly install ClassicWB Lite to a .HDF. ...thread title also changed from "question" to something more meaingful. |

Just tried these 3 .ADFs and I think you're talking about the text in the cracktros: ... Kid Gloves (1990)(Millennium)[cr Miracle].zip ... Kid Gloves (1990)(Millennium)[cr Miracle][t +7 Miracle].zip ... Kid Gloves (1990)(Millennium)[cr Miracle][t +7 Setrox].zip You don't like the cracktros? I mean, I can understand wanting to remove text when crackers plastered their name through the game but in cracktro? Just use the .IPF then. Last edited by DamienD; 11 January 2019 at 23:23. |
