"WHDLoad Install Cavitas Now!" Petition

Forget Putty Squad. Forget Snow Bros. There is another game which is MIA to the good people of Amigaland.

Yes, I'm talking about Cavitas.

What's the problem with it anyway? Well, no working crack exists and originals are rare. I bought an original of it, but then found that nobody would make it into a WHDLoad install.

The game itself is similar to an 8-bit cave exploration game. You pilot your ship around the cave system, collecting keys, shooting enemies and opening doors. The distinctive part of the game is the cool beam of light which illuminates the darkness.

So, if you want to see this game in WHDLoad form, vote and get some interest going in it. Your vote counts!

Thumbs up Before you waste your time Galahad...

...check the WHDLoad 15.1 developer archive. I wrote a RawDIC disk imager/file ripper slave included which pulls all the files off the disk (and you can learn how to rip files at the same time!)

Should save you a bit of work...

Codetapper is going to email all the the relevant images and stuff for Cavitas to you Galahad (or to me and I'll forward them on).

I don't seem to have backups myself...

Thanks!

Big grin YEAH!

Cavitas is now 100% done, thanks to Psygore!

Shouldn't take long anymore until it's available on WHDload home page!

Hurray! Cavitas is in the Zone and it works well with WinUAE...

Two things:

- You need to be a registered WHDLoad user to play it.
- You'll need the KickEmu ROM files in the devs/kickstarts dir.

Great job Psygore!

Hasn't anyone played Cavitas since it was released?

Or has it been downloaded and consigned to the huge collection of unplayed games on everybody's hard disks; that great gaming graveyard.

Before the WHDLoad install was completed by Psygore, Cavitas was not realistically playable. No working crack existed and the CAPS image has not yet been released, so it could not be played in an emulator. And the original was required to play it on a real Amiga - not easy, when it's so rare.

This is the gaming equivalent of finding an old, forgotten film and then restoring it to be shown again to modern audiences. You may not like the game, but at least you got the chance to play it!

I'll need to register WHDLoad before I can play Cavitas. It's a good incentive to register I suppose. It looks like a good game. Reminiscent of those dark levels on Alien Breed: Tower Assault where you need to use a torch and the damn alien buggers just keep flying at you in the dark. I hope it's not as hard.

Doh. I've just realised it's a side-scrolling shooty and not an overhead one. oops.

I should have a go at playing it I suppose!

It'd be rude not to!

I didn't register whdload for nothing!

looks very reminiscent of Future Shock
