Editing large IFF-ANIM from Hard Disk?
Hey everyone!
Happy Tuesday I was wondering if there are any applications out there that can edit ANIM files from hard disk, or better still perhaps ones that can stitch them together into one large ANIM file that can be streamed? I seem to have a vague recollection that back in the day there was a tool that could play anim files by pausing certain frames, going back to specified frames etc. within one file? Maybe someone can jog my memory? I want to create an episode on my YouTube channel about creating animations retro style and whilst I can do something reasonable with 2MB Chip RAM, it would be super cool to push the limits a bit. It would be so cool as then I can do something a little more than just drawing some anime resulting in a 10 second clip. Failing that it's time to crack out Blitz BASIC again and write some custom code to play an animation with some custom pausing on certain frames... Thanks! Vicky |

Have you had a look at AmigaVision?

They are about in the wild if yours don't work.
I think it's on the EAB FTP as well. The other one that comes to my mind is DeluxeVideo but I haven't used that one so not sure if it is suitable for your needs. |

Also, give a try to Animlab which is a subprog of Scala Infochannel IC500. It can unbind anims to pics, bind pics to anims as well as bind anims together.

I suppose Scala is the most obvious one to try which is why I guess I forgot about it Lol
Another couple are AegisVideoTitler and VideoStagePro both of which I've used to play animations but I'm not sure to what degree of control they offer. |

Thanks for the extremely helpful replies.
I also probably have Scala MM300 in the loft, I think it was on a late issue of CU Amiga's SuperCDs which I still have a lot of. I'll give Amiga Vision a go first as it will be easier for me to get on the A600 as I have the disks and manual. Hopefully it will work reasonably well on an A600 with 4MB RAM (it still has a 68000 but I have a SRAM card and an extra meg of chip). All I need it for is not to distribute it but to play the final result on screen for the episode. No idea how soon this will happen, as I have 1001 things to do first but I keep thinking of new ideas and then immediately spend time thinking how I can make it happen rather than finish current projects lol! |
