I know I ripped my original once in I believe it was RawDIC format. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to do much good.
Does anyone know if I could copy this game to a working ADF file by some means? |

Andreas : can you upload these RIPS, please?
Thanks. You mean the RawDIC ones? I'll have to rip it again, but if you think you can get something from it, or help me rip ADF files then I won't mind. Let's see. I ripped it and I know Codetapper got a version of it. He made a slave file I should use to read the disk with again and I remember it having a lot of read errors which I guess is due to protection of some sort. Luckily I still have the slave file lying around in my mailbox. Should I use that to rip it? |

Huh?
Prove me wrong, but a slave file is for RUNNING a game, not for RIPPING. Yes, use RawDIC. Well Codetapper is with us here, maybe he can upload the files, saving you some work. |

Turbo Trax
OK lads, I will see if I can get some time to publish an ADF version of the game tonight. I did manage to rip all the files in the end and in theory it's just a matter of replacing the built in crappy Atari ST format loader with a stable one and it should work.
Also the data files on the disk will be compatible with the WHDLoad version so you can all play the HD game at the same time. The only thing is I have to find a few kb of free memory to put the loader in since the stable one is a lot bigger than the game's one but I think I found a few free bytes Also the built in track editor saves data to disk so I will probably have to do a bit of testing on that... Drake: Save your time, I'll do it all - besides I think that ripper I sent you has a bug on the main game file. And the files by themselves are useless without a loader or WHDLoad slave. |

Slow progress
Hi guys - just to let you know I'm having trouble on this game making an ADF version up - I've replaced the loader but it keeps crashing without even loading the main game. I'll have another look soon...
Now I know why guys like Mok/FFC/Galahad/Phil Douglas were such good crackers as converting an MFM game to a copyable disk format is *very* tough... Maybe when you've done a few they get easier, I bloody hope so! |

Both TOSEC versions aren't useful?

Well if you know of a website where I can download TOSEC files one by one instead of some god awful 20gb ZIP file on ratio sites only to find they are the same OLD TOSEC from my 3.5gb 7zip that would be cool

I've uploaded the WHDLoad versions I made ages ago, if they work OK for people I'll clean up the install kit and release them. I've just re-assembled them today so hopefully they are pretty much complete!
The first is from the original release, the second is from the Turbo Pack compilation. This game seems to almost play itself most of the time. It also has a track editor if you hit Escape on the menu screen. |

The "Turbo Pack" compilation version (named as TurboTrax_V2 in the ZIP file in the zone) is in fact a DOS file version of the game which has no copy protection, but it does have the track editor disabled (as the loader was replaced so it can't save).
I have put all the files from that version onto a separate disk and made an ADF, so it's in the zone for those that want to play it. I have not AGA fixed it - there are some blitter problems etc. But for WinUAE or with an A500 config it'll probably suffice for now! Enjoy... |

This game was my Christmas' present in 1991. I started this thread with the nickname "Giovacappo" in 2001. Today is Christmas again and my nostalgia brought me here, just to discover that finally an ADF of this game is available somehow, somewhere.

I got the steel pulse version working emulated on the ps3. My question was... do any other versions of this game exist?

If it's DOS disk you may try to edit startup-sequence with ADF View to skip problematic crack intro.
