So very sad, RIP Archer, he produced so many fantastic games across gens that his memory will live on for a long time, continuing to bring enjoyment to many.

Apparently Archer and Jimmy got on well in real life, they would go out drinking together I have heard.

Sad and sobering news. He was a pioneer and great guy who made some amazing games.
Makes me feel that little bit older and fragile. Let's remember him by firing up those great games and enjoy them.

RIP far too young. Had a game of Dropzone on XL, Mercury on PSP and Jimmy White on Amiga. Great games that have and will survive.

I had the pleasure of meeting Archer at retro events over the last twenty years, and interviewed him live more than once. He was a genuinely nice guy and an incredibly talented programmer. Rest in peace.
