Hehe...I actually think of this thread everytime I run across a Tetris game that I've never seen or heard of before. I just never find the time to check the game and compare it to this thread. Perhaps we can start with a list of all the Tetris games which this game is NOT.

I did this at the very beginning of the thread, but let's recapitulate, because all of the suggestions were not the game either:
Games that are NOT the Tetris I am looking for: (Last Updated: 2002.07.31) - Mirrorsoft's Tetris (is there more than one version?) - Tetren (PD thingie, post 1990) - Spectrum Holobyte's Tetris (but I heard there are two versions of this, one very rare) - Twintris / Super Twintris - Amiga Tetris 2 - Duotris - Zaxk - Super Tetris - Zyconix - Tetris Pro - Tetrix - Ditris - Tetris Metallica - Super Caztri Sorry for the unTOSEC names, I dont use TOSEC at all. The game's name is probably Tetris something, or just plain Tetris (my bet). It featured a splitted screen, dunno about simultaneous 2 player action (never saw it running like that) but teh one player game happened on the leftmost part od teh screen, and something else was on the right (probably the stats, just like the arcade Atari version) It's got to be near identical to the Atari Tetris arcade, I remember it like that and I have a very photographic memory . Same russian theme, vertical split-screen. A friend of mine says that the usic is not like the Atari Tetris one, but a technoish remake of it. That's all I know for now. Help me out! |

I used to have a demo for a game back in the day that was called Tetrix Metallica...had the two player screen and all, but I think only the leftmost pane worked. It started with level 1, then jumped to a higher level, then an even higher level (that was ridiculously hard to beat). It was like shareware, since the author's address and fee was somewhere on the screen (I think after you lost or in the intro). It was a BRILLIANT game and I never could find a complete version. So I'm glad this thread reminded me to add this to my MIA, although I doubt I will EVER find a full version. I'll dig around and see if I still have the demo...I know I must have put it on one of my old compacts.

Konrad: At thsi point, a demo, or whatever it is related to this game, is most apreciated. if I can score the real name of the game, I can check with the local ex-spreaders to see who has it. but none of them fuckers remember the game by screens, but they remember names very well...
List of games that are not the one Ive been looking for updated with Tetris Metallica. |

You can get the remake of the amigas Tetris Pro from my site - it is the same game for Windows, but has added A LOT of extras (2 player game being the best ;-) ) . http://www.worldofspectrum.org/tomcat/tetris [end shameless plug] |

On an italian page dedicated to Amiga, i found a reference to a clone of Tetris which is called Super Caztri.
I never saw it and it wasn't available for download (even if it was requested to), but i'm reporting to you just in case the title rings a bell to you. |

I could not run the game because it freezes in WinUAE, but (being an AMOS game) i saw the ending screen (which is in italian) and ... how can i say it ... let's say that it features the "members" of RamJam group (having been coded by one of them). And i definitely guess it's not what you were searching :laugh |

Hehe yes, there's your beans
Well ptrchiappe was complaining about this one not available anywhere, so I decided to dig into my private treasure chest once again... And I laughed because no one might have thought that *I* actually have that rare one! Besides, Super Caztri is from the NET! But this site doesn't exist anymore. It had something with 'retro' in the name (maybe retrogames.com in his ORIGINAL state?) and it was in Italian language. BTW, here's a config that works on latest WinUAE. |

@andreas: thanks for the config, i didn't have time to adjust my default config for A500.
You surely downloaded from retrogames.com because that was the site mentioned in the italian forum (by a certain Andreas_ICSE, is that you?). Here is a pic for Akira, i won't translate the compliments given by the game for not finishing the level . I also uploaded to the zone a zip with three ending pics of the game, if you want a translation just ask (but it shouldn't be too difficult for a spanish talking guy ). |

Akira, are you sure it was released for the Amiga? I know it, it *is* called just plain 'Tetris' but I've only seen it on Coin-Ops. I have the MAME version if you want it.
