...it is cracked (indeed no message), i have passed the protection screen by typing anything.
try to use the "Early Startup Control" (hit both mouse buttons) and boot with no startup-sequence
then type:
cd "your Capital Punishment directory"
for example:
cd System:Games/CapitalPunishment
then:
execute cp

i think the created startup-sequence on bootdisk is faulty

Wow mai !! I try immediatly and i report in a few second too ! Cross your fingers for me lol

Argh i can't find the command to launch it because i am a total newbie concerning Amiga Shell...

My hard drive is structure is like that :

h0 : bootable
h1 & h2 : non nootable

On WB, when i opened a shell and typed :

cd h2: // i have a prompt "Jeux:"
cd JeuxHD
cd CapitalPunishment:
execute cp // of course, not enougth memory message, it was only to find the path.

So i booted without a startup-sequence with the boot disk of Capital Punishment in the drive (i suppose a blank disk will be ok too right ?) and typed :

cd h2:
cd Jeux:
cd JeuxHD: // I have a prompt window "please insert JeuxHD in any drive" then after cancelling
// an error messae saying that this device isn't mounted.

I tried also :

cd h2:
cd JeuxHD: // same thing.

Errrrr soory to ask a stupid question but someone can tell me how to do a so simple thing ???

Thank you for your help (again lol) !

I could also create a bootdisk, which is working for you then.
Tell me full path of your "Capital Punishment" directory!

Thanks a lot mai, this becomes making me crazy lol...
I just tried in WinUAE 2.2.0, and i did exactly this :

cd DH0:
cd CapitalPunishment:
execute cp

The game started but black screen.

And now when i type this again, LOL, i have the message "device (or volume) is not mounted" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't understand anything !!!

The path seems to be h2:/JeuxHD/CapitalPunishment/cp.exe
or maybe h2:/Jeux/JeuxHD/CapitalPunishment/cp.exe

On shell, when i type "cd h2:", i have a prompt "jeux:" so i don't know if it is /Jeux/ or /JeuxHD/ .... (h2 is a non bootable partition)

Thanks a lot for your help, i am a bit lost cause i don't know anything of Amiga OS...

*** Wait a moment mai, i just removed the ":" after "cd capitalpunishment" in WinUAE and it works, i can access to the game directory. Now the problem is other under WinUAE : after typing "execute cp" i have a black screen. So can you upload here the .UAE config file you used please my friend ?? Thanks a lot !

I will create a bootdisk for you now.
If i have understand correctly your path is:
Jeux:JeuxHD/CapitalPunishment
right?

IN the zone, give me your bootdisk for checking.

Have a look in the CapitalPunihment dir on your A1200 HD, if you haven't got these dir's then the game wont start.

DATA
PLAYERScode

you also need extra files fro the dir CODElevels as the installer only copies the first 7 files.

I copied these to an ADF install from an IPF install and the game works with copy protection cracked on Winuae A1200 default config using boot disk.

As i have said before, this seems problem with hacked lha/key on some systems.
"Aftershock" released a fix for this problem.
I have uploaded ADF with the fix applied to the zone.
This should work 100% now.

Thanks for your help my friends !

Indeed, i just looked and some files are missing.

I will install the 7 disks again using your ADF mai, then i will try to load it.

Hope it will work, so that no need to help me doing a bootdisk . If it fails, it will upload the bootdisk created so that you will manage to check it (thanks a lot for this!).

By the way, i need to disable some hard drive partition otherwise i have the message "ot enougth memory". When h0 (my bootable partition) is enabled, for now it is ok concerning the amount of RAM, i have exactly the same black screen (not grey i did a mistake) than in WinUAE 2.2.0. I hope the patched disk will work^^. Report in a few minutes or next week-end if i don't find the time to be connected.

Thanks a lot for all, i like this forum and the people here for their constant help !

Ok, i just reinstalled the game with you fixed disk mai and... it works like a charm with the bootdisk done by the installation program .
Nothing special to do, nothing to disabled, you insert the bootdisk and you play he he .

In my opinion, your fixed disk would be added to the official TOSEC set in replacememnt of the past useless first disk...

If you find some time, i would be curious to know what you exactly did on the past first disk and how work a bootdisk on Amiga in general, i have other games installed on my HD but not enougth memory to launch then from WB... So i feel lilke making one bootdisk to improve (a little lol) my knowledge of the Amiga's OS^^.

Welldone my friend, and thank you all here for your precisous help !

To make a bootable disk on the Amiga you have to insert a blank disk, open a shell window and type "install DF0:". This will make the Amiga boot to a shell prompt from the floppy disk.

To make a floppy disk load programs you have to add an S dir and place a startup-sequence in it.

You may need to add other files to the disk to make programs load.

Say you wanted to boot to Workbench with a minimal startup, then you would add a C dir and put LoadWB in it, then edit your startup-sequence file and add the lines;

LoadWB
endcli

Hope this helps you

@trydowave; It's in the Zone.

Well.. since posting, ive got a bit further....

after following all previous instructions and using the new disk etc I got the green screen and restart.

I played around with the ram, cpu speed etc

for example I changed the ram from 2mb chip ram and 4mb fast ram to 8 only fast ram. I managed to get the game to load and I got to character select.

Now, as soon as the game starts it hangs (freezes completely).

I'm at a loss. This has got to be the hardest game to install in all of HISTORY!

any help would be appreciated.

Cheers
Tony

dont worry mate.. done it.

Just started a fresh A1200 config (always a good idea) with 8mb Chip ram and it finally played...

I gotta say though, after all this time. I'm not too impressed.

I mean the Graphics are kinda nice (the shadow effects look good)

There not drawn really that well though (and I hear the gameplay sucks)

Gotta say im more impressed with Fightin' Spirit (blown away by that game actually)

Glad I finally got it working though...

Btw... are the other ClickBoom Games this hard to install like Napalm and T Zero etc (I think T Zeroes clickboom)

Cheers again
Tony

Capital Punishment = 100 % overhyped (like Rise of the Robots ) and full of bugs ,
just a waste of time

It isn`t overhyped. Very good graphics and music/sound fx for a stock A1200 + HD. Good gameplay. Maybe a bit to difficult.

Fist time hearing that
It wont even run on an stock amiga. ( crash after certain point )
I had it on original disks. ( and the CD version )
It crashed on all Amigas that i tryed after a certein point.
This game is 100 % garbage.

If you want good gameplay on an Amiga Beat´em Up, try IK+.
That little game kicks the ass of CP, everyday.
FACT. ( sorry, but just thinking of CP makes me want to go BOOOOM )
