Happy Gamesmaster is officially BACK!

Well, the old series as we know it is getting repeated again, anyway.

Series One. 10:30am and 6:30pm. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. On Challenge.

(Yes, it's a UK broadcasting thing here. Don't know if it's been aired in other countries before.)

Back-to-back with Knightmare as well. CHALLENGE R00LZ. Even if they show guff like "Soap Addicts".

Haha, that reminds me the chick from the rival show badinfluence Violet Berlin or whatever her name was does a show on one of the sky channels now.

*goes to find link*

.here we go from her bad infuence days.............

Gone now however is her dyed blond hair, replaced by something even more outrageously stupid, but she isn't looking too old (see below). Her voice is still annoying as hell sounding as if she needs a nasal irrigation or five.

Bring back Patrick Moore, the real star of gamesmaster!

Happy Violet playing on an A1200

Here is a picture from that website of Violet Berlin playing on an Amiga 1200. The screenshot has a caption: "The dawn of on-line gaming". It looks like some sort of flight simulator. Anyone know what game it is?

Saw someone playing stunt-car-racer on a blooper/silly video program the other day and he smashed up the machine when he lost, I thought it was an A1200 to start with but I was relieved when I noticed it was actually an Atari.

Anyway, why does the cockpit look so much better on that first picture....

@Bloodwych: I also loved watching Bad Influence just as much as GM and even remember entering a competition to win the Super Gameboy during the 1994 season! And I do remember coming across that site you linked to before, thanks for reminding me about it again!

Anyone remember the Bad Influence magazine as well? I think only a small amount of issues were made or something like that, and I believe the first issue came with a competition audio tape in which you were meant to identify the game sounds contained on it. I forget what the prize was however.

In return, here is the ever-so-wonderful Gamesmaster fansite I bumped into a while back. Enjoy.

Some great quotes in that article, mentioning her hair cut and bad outfits. But I like this one the best:

What was your favourite gaming era?

My favourite gaming era is still SNES and MD, because it was so fresh and new, and I probably played 90 per cent of all games that came out during that time. I don't spend time playing that old stuff now (except SNES games on my Game Boy Advance, for instance) though as there's so much that's new to be getting on with!

Ok she doesn't mention the Amiga, but we know that the snes and MD era is also Amiga too. Shame she doesn't retro game........

Thanks for the gamesmaster link Marz. And someone work out which game she's playing on that A1200 - EDIT yeah, I think you're right it is air warrior steve.

does everyone agree that ms berlin looks alot better than you used to do?

i thought Knightmare was great... i think "they" should makes some new episodes imagine how great it would be now, with "modern" computers doing the work!

Guys I have some old video tapes with Bad Influence & Games master episodes! sadly they arent in very good nick anymore, time has been unforgiving and slightly degraded the picture.

Im thinking about grabbing them into avi's maybe...

Cheers for the link Bloodwych!

Takes me right back....getting home from school and watching it. Used to love Gamesmaster too.

That shows the reason I bought my Atari Jaguar. Used to hear all about it on the show, so when i saw one on ebay, i thought i'd get it.

Glad you enjoyed the read Andrew.

Being older, I never really watched the show when they were pushing the Atari Jag. Ended up buying one off someone however dirt cheap back in my Uni days (1996) with Doom and Cybermorph - all because I couldn't afford a PC to play FPS.

The only real video games show we had in Australia was some lame attempt called "The Zone." It didn't last long.

You guys in Europe are so lucky.

I saw that, blimey those Atari's can take a beating can't they? I feel sorry for the guy sitting next to him, he looked terrified.

I put it on Gamesmaster one day to see none other than the axe weilding sub-game of Heimdall! Brought back memories, it was one of the first games I played on my Amiga when it appeared on a coverdisk.

Nice to see Zany Golf on there too, nicely edited to omit those mammoth loading times. I nearly gave up on the game because of those snore-inducing loading times.

It is indeed, as I remember you had to pay quite a bit to access the companys server and play it online, one of those games I brought and never really played much!
