I live in York and it's only just come out here TODAY so it might be worth you having another look tomorrow and if you still can't get hold of it, I'll buy another copy. Email me and let me know.

I was quite impressed with the mag, £5 is a tad expensive but I'd hardly call 114 pages a "slim" magazine, especially considering that nearly every page is editorial content (I only counted 5 pages of adverts).

@Marlon
PeanukUK says he will try and get one for me and Ive asked you to as well. This is just so I make sure I get one, so whoever gets me one first then Ill take that one. But if the you both manage to get a copy each then I will either take both or one just one and the other person can sell it or do whatever.

I dont mind either way.

Cheers guys

On page 41 beneath a picture of an A500 PLUS we have the caption:

"The classic Amiga 500 - a regular sight in UK households in the mid- to late - 80's"

There's professionalism for you. Turn the page and, when was the A500+ released Edge? Yes, that's right "1991".

Left hand? Right hand?

Little mistakes like that ARE pretty annoying, but Edge's level of journalism is still way above pretty much everything alse out there - and not just in the games mag sector.

True they are very stylish and I certainly don't feel embarassed leaving them around for people to stumble across .

I think you use of the world 'journalism' is correct - it is journalism and not some half-baked press release which alot of the console mags aimed at kids seem to be.

However those errors are annoying. I seem to remember theat Game TM made similar ones especially regarding price.

I just hope that Edge keep these Specials "special". Anyone remember the Amiga Format specials which came out ? They started of as very interesting one offs but then started to get really desperate - I seem to remember that they were quite expensive too.

However it is obviously fufilled many people's wishes - a national professional magazine about retro gaming :-)

Another grumble....

On page 42 we have a screen shot of the purple start-up screen on the Amiga 1200 ("3.1 Rom 40.863" ect)

Beneath we have the caption "The original Amiga's famous boot screen. "

This is nonsense!!! If there is a famous boot screen it's the white screen with the hand hold a disk, not this relatively recent screen.

Perhaps the people who helped out with the written article could have offered to supply the screen shots and captions :-)

It would have been nice to have got some editorial review, but that would have been very unlikely thing to have given a bunch of guys he didn't even know...

The zone

No. The files will disappear from the zone within 4 days. I doubt everyone from the edge regularly visits EAB to see if anyone has scanned their pages.

Great, a toll call from NZ to order a magazine that will cost 3 times the coverprice to ship over so I can see 4 lousy pages of an Amiga article without waiting 3 months for it to appear in our shops!

I think if you added up all the amount of time people have wasted on here either asking for the scans or making excuses about why they won't scan them, someone could have scanned the articles about 10 times over... For heavens sake, somebody on here must have a scanner and a few minutes to scan them! Common sense people...

And I have already said please in the other thread so I refuse to say it again!

Also I find it amusing that a team of people can work for 9 months to make a game, a cracker will happily remove the protection and upload it for everyone to download/spread without caring that the publisher might lose a few sales yet everyone is worried about scanning 4 lousy pages of a magazine!
