Pinball dreams (source code released?)
Hi Everyone, just wondering if anyone has the source code to Pinball dreams? Googling around it sounds like it has been ported and that perhaps the source code is out there? Thanks

It is around but I don't think it's GPL or anything, email one of the port maintainers. It's in C.

it's been ported (very faithfully) from asm to C. And it's NOT available publicly.

I wrote the iOS/PSP/PS3/MeeGo ports of Pinball Dreams and Pinball Fantasies for Cowboy Rodeo in 2009. The code is in C++, carefully manually converted line by line from the original assembler sources. Unfortunately the source is not freely available but owned by the IP holders. @Vesuri
What happened to Pinball Illusions coming out for iOS? What happened to Cowboy Rodeo? I was looking forward to buying it. I bought the other versions on Amiga and iOS. |

Then you did it for the second time, it was C back in 2001 (I worked on it). |

I moved on, the owner of Cowboy Rodeo moved on, the market moved on (with the "big names" rapidly finding their way into the App Store, also in the pinball genre). It's a pity it didn't happen though even for completeness.
10 years ago it was Rebellion; most likely still is. |

@Pyromania
Rebellion began as a publisher on the Amiga around 1992/93 and was set-up by Jason Kingsley (and his brother Christopher) for the purposes of releasing Eye of the Storm in 1994 after Empire cut them loose following some long delays with game development. They probably made a real name for themselves when they were signed up by Atari to develop for the-then new Atari Jaguar and released Alien vs Predator and Checkered Flag around the same time. Later on they acquired the 2000 AD comic series and developed games based on the 2000 AD characters. Presumably they must've done well because they went on to acquire Core Design and Eidos after that in the mid-2000s and have made a steady string of acquisitions (incl. the Bitmap Brothers portfolio, as Jeff mentioned) in the years since on the back of development/publishing successes (e.g. Sniper Elite and its various sequels). You can read more about them on Wikipedia and MobyGames: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebellion_Developments https://www.mobygames.com/company/re...velopments-ltd |

these "hd" versions looked horrible they released the original ones and those were absolutely great except that shaking your device to tilt was a terrible idea
they ported the same collections to PSP and those were absolutely perfect i recommend them very much [ Show youtube player ] Quote:
