I have the 2012-04-10 Amiga Tosec download

I have found the DAT files to update but have no idea how to go about it.

You probably get asked all of the time sorry but I am new to the Amiga scene.

What are you trying to do exactly? If you need a rommanager you could try, Romcenter, Romulus or Romvault.
If this is not what you are asking for please be a bit more precise whith what exactly you need help so we can actually help you

I downloaded Romvault

However I have no idea what steps I need to do in order to update the TOSEC archive.

No idea where to put the archive, where to put the dat files and what steps are required to run the update.

As I said I am new to the Amiga game. However I am not new to rom managers.

With ClrMAME you found MAME.exe and the structure was in place so it knew how to work with the dats. However TOSEC is much more complicated so I have no idea how to use the manager with it.

Ah i think i'm getting what you want. You are after an easy frontend to use your amiga games instantly. Then i recommend you have a look here: http://fs-uae.net/
As you know mame you should get along with that tool too and all necessary infos are on the pages there. Hope this helps a bit.

Ah okay. I don't use Romvault. Personally i use Romulus. But there is a video on romvault homepage which shows its usage.
