Amiga CD32 sound problem
I just bought an Amiga CD32 and i have some problems with the sounds. I hear more sounds in the right speaker then the left one and some sound effects is so low that you almost can't hear them. I tried to connect to headphone jack but i only get sound in one speaker. Any idea?

Lakanman, you most probably have a bad AC coupling cap for one of the two stereo channels. Capacitors doesn't necessarily have to be leaky to have gone bad. Both wet and solid electrolytics can go bad with age without leaking.
I've heard that Commodore also fitted two capacitors with the wrong polarity in the CD32, and at least one of them has to do with the sound. Having them in there the wrong way around will kill the capacitors pretty quickly. I could probably fix these problems for you in an afternoon. Where in Sweden do you live? |
