My vote goes to the A1000. Like the idea to put the keyboard under the computer. A real desk safer.

Voted for the A4000 (desktop) simply because of the smooth, compact desktop and way outa-my-price-range-fabled machine of much mythical video toastering....
and it is one of the only 4 Amiga flavours I have never owned. A1000, A2000, A3000 and A4000 (desktop models) At one time or another (or still do) owned the other amiga flavours. I settled for a poor mans A4000, "the A1200", (actualy still have 3 of them which goes to show you howmuch they grow on you) the A500 (original) is as much as ugly as the battleship grey of the CD32 and although it was imho (CD32) the ugly duckling of the Amiga scene it was better looking than sega's mega-seedy *ahem CD A subtle sorbert of Amiga flavour: The A500+ was a good step in looks after that real ugly Ikea beige of its former self and the add-on dongles complemented the lines for the A500+ A600 had an almost *girly cuteness about it (small compact almost Anime' proportions) The A1200 has austier lines that dominated the area of its environment. I felt it was an non flattering look, styled mainly for the componets inside than out (this is obviously before one tries to upgrade it) one of my first conversions use an old bombproof monster sized x386 chasis other than the weight it had good lines and was a blend of PC,Amiga and AppleMac white/beige. one of my latested projects is rebuilding a porly towered amiga into a dvd player, its looking good will post pics when complete. hmm think I shall call it Amiga DVDTV ... i like it... its got a ring to it... |

Phooey, the A1200 doesn't even look like a real computer. :-)
A real computer has a separate keyboard. ;-) |

Yea they are great monitors, mine is actually the 21" P1110, I paid £150 for it quite a few years ago, if i'd got it with a Sony badge on it would have cost twice that!

I've always wanted one of those P1110 for my piece of trash PC so my A4000 PPC machine can inherit my 19inch trinitron so it's Trinitron all the way here, hehe |
