"Elves' Dreamland" New Amiga game for Xmas 2015!

This is a lovely cute xmas game (2D platformer) designed for xmas 2015.
As you know, I am a "Jet Set Willy clone games" collector.
So this xmas I give you a special gift which was created
by map editor of "Jet Set Billy" coded Niilo Paasivirta.
Of course all graphics and music were made by me, nittamituaki.
You have to collect all 200 items to complete the game,
while you can feel nostalgic everywhere.
It's because 7 (out of 8) areas were made based on commercial retro games.
How many titles you remember?

In addition,
This game has 9 tunes which are related to christmas.

Download and more details: External LINK

You can also download the same data from aminet later.

Video: [ Show youtube player ]

The game has fully tested on my CD32+ FDD.
(Completed 200 items without any cheat.) It also works on WinUAE.

Anyway I hope you enjoy this game in holiday 2015 ~ 2016.
See you my next game, have a happy holiday !

Feel free to merge here and following thread AFTER Dec.25 .

Just I'd like to inform this cute xmas game to everyone as NEWS forum.
Thanks.

Just had a play on this. Great fun! Very retro and a lot like JSW in the way it's played.

I love the title screen, although I'm not sure what motives Santa has with the elf.......

Going to play it some more now.

I wThe game does not boot on Kickstart 1.3. This because the echo command is missing on disk.

Played it a bit. Too bad there is no option to play the game with joystick.

I encountered an infinite death loop near that big statue! Fell off the platform and to the couch at the bottom. And it respawned me in mid air and it happened again and again until all my lives were lost

The echo command is not needed on AmigaOS 2.x because the command is built into the Kickstart. However, you can copy the echo command from the Workbench 1.3 disk and put it in the 'c' directory on your disk. Now the game should boot on Kickstart 1.3.

For the joystick thing. Maybe there is tool on Aminet or something that you can put in the startup-sequence to remap the keyboard control?

Unfortunately I don't have such "additional coding" knowledge at this time.
If anyone gives me some hints,
I might be able to update till Dec 24.
Is it naive idea?
Just an idea: place a platform below the spawning point(s) where the infinite loops occur.

Added "Joystick support" using "joy2key2" coded by Lorence Lombardo.
The latest version (v1.1) was uploaded to my web site.
Unfortunately "joy2key2" gets error on A500 system.
Can anyone test v1.1 on your kick2.x system (A600, etc)?

Then I will edit my readme file and upload v1.1 to aminet.

@Tsak
Long time no see!
But sorry, those spawning points might occur everywhere.
It might be hard to fix. Why? ...I'll explain when I have more time.
Now I will edit html (add control method) first. Just a moment, please.

A:
"Did IT com from the desert?"(Dec 24,2014): YES!
"Ultimate Maze"(Mar 1,2015): YES!
"Henry & Five Towers"(May 17,2015): YES!
"Elves' Dreamland"(Dec 4,2015): no... but several fireplaces...
You should fix that and add a camp fire!

Excellent job, Nitta. Gonna play it over the Holidays

Indeed, "joy2key2" is a great program!
Following games are also "Joystick supported" state.

Jet Set Billy (Original,1993)
Jet Set Willy '97 (1997)
Jet Set Billy: New map by Rob (1999), changed instruments to distinguish this version
from the original Jet Set Billy game (made in 1993).

Jet Set Billy: New map by Chris (2015)

Visit "Jet Set Willy Paradise" and doubleclick each floppy icon.
Tested on my CD32+ Analogic FDD (& SEGA 6button pad).
It was comfortable control.

For beginners,
Chris' Map is recommended first.
Jet Set Willy '97 is also fun.(You can see map from the webpage above.)

Joystick support! Thats a big improvement. Now the game is a lot more fun to play.

I'll play the game more seriously the upcoming weekend. Will try to get all 200 gifts. Will let you know how it goes

Thanks nittamituaki for adding joystick support for my game too - glad it provided some inspiration for your game - looking forward to playing it.

How easy was it to amend the in game music - also what happens when you complete the game - is a message or game screen displayed and can you amend this too?
