About 13 years ago I played the Mega Drive-version emulated on PSP and got to the final level, but could never beat it. Definitely not an easy game and certainly not everything is self-explanatory. Thus here the most important info from the manual:

HELMET - Allows you to breathe above water for longer periods.

SHADES - These allow you to see the usually invisible jellyfish.

TOP HAT - Reduces the damage you take from enemies.

RAY GUN - Firstly, when underwater it saves you having to bubble-up enemies
and pop them because they pop instantly when hit. Secondly, it allows you to

EXTRA DYNAMITE - This can be obtained fron James' home pipe. It is only for

Yes the music is catchy and suitable with the game.
Some situations are sometimes unfair (level 4 in particular) but it's a good game.
I died on the 7th level (1-2-3-4-5-6-8 completed).

Already got the 10M-bonus at level 5. Died soon after that.

Hi John, how is it possible to get 10M by level 5? On my version only one letter appears per level, and each cave gives the same letter, so it would take 9 caves/levels to get the full name?

Some levels you can have two different letters.

One letter per screen, most levels have multiple screen. I also had the 10,000,000 by level 5.

Yeah it's a very tough challenge. I wish you'd still get an extra life every 100k later on so that the pressure wouldn't be so high. But at least the top hat that you obtain in level 6 reduces damage taken immensely.
