Gauntlet 2 WHDLoad slave update
ok, i've uploaded to the Zone a very early version of an update to the Gauntlet 2 slave, as per the request here
Features: Start for Players 1 / 2 (F1,F2) can now be activated by joystick button. Players 3 / 4 can skip the intro screens, but cannot join the game (*temporarily* disabled because of a horrible bug in e-uae where joy 3 / 4 ports constantly have 'fire' held, and i happen to be using e-uae a lot for development) Players 1 / 2 -should- have access to potions via 2nd button. I am a little dubious about this, so please test away! currently only the PAL version is supported. CUSTOM2=1 - infinite potions CUSTOM2=2 - infinite keys CUSTOM2=3 - both dont ask what i'm using custom1 for, i havent decided myself yet, but i know it will be needed! there is a known bug that i am not going to mention it, as i'd like to see how good you potential testers are! my thanks to Harry for the original slave, and to Wepl, and Asman for their joystick code, and Wepl again and als Girv for helping me understand how to fix the problem i was having with it! i cant thank you guys enough really. have fun. |

because is is very much an alpha version in serious need of testing!
no NTSC version support, trainer incomplete, known bug, disabled player 3/4 join-game, possible dodgy second button support..... hardly ready for release yet! |

got bored. Picked this up again. the "problem" i was having with player-spawning is now fixed, just need to tidy up the 2nd version support and the tooltypes.
if anyone wants to test it, grab me on IRC. |

Beta version in the Zone.
For Players 1 & 2, Fire can be used to start the game (this will be tooltyped for all players - i have my reasons!) For Players 1 & 2 Second Fire Button can be used to active magic CUSTOM2=1 infinite potions (you are given 1 on game start) CUSTOM2=2 infinite keys (you are given 1 on game start) CUSTOM2=3 both of the above F6-F9 can still be used to add health as before the 2 supported disk images included in the upload thanks to Harry for the original slave and sharing his source, Wepl for the disk images, Mai for the extra ADF supplied for research and many many thanks to Richard Costello for posting a snippet of original code that helped me realise what i was doing wrong last time i tried to make this patch! Maybe more trainers and some tooltype clean-ups to come on this, but not much else. |

possible release candidate in the Zone. I would be grateful for a bit of testing of the two versions!

Works fine with 4 players with both versions here on WinUAE 2.3.0 and WHDLoad 16.9 Horace

I have taken the lack of feedback to mean that all is ok (i did test extensively myself) and this has been submitted to whdload.de
